Pull the power cord from the back of the machine and let it stand for 5 min. Make sure you pull the power cord from the machine and don't simply unplug the machine from the wall. (this is not witchcraft, it has actually worked on 48's for me!) :)

Keep moving the gear both directions by hand...it could free up. You don't see a broken white piece of plastic next to the wiper do you? Be careful not to break it...you might have to replace it at that point! :) Ryan

Is the wiper stuck forward or backward? If it's forward and the machine will not boot without an error you need to move the wiper back manually. Carefully turn the top gear until the wiper goes back. Once it's free, boot in service mode (hold down, right, up arrows and power on), go to...

Got it figured out. Had to re-set the 2nd dip switch on the heater board. Flash then move it back to the factory position. Ryan

When you went to update the Sub-controller did you get a boot error? How was the issues resolved? Thanks, Ryan

Do you happen to be running Windows Vista? That error code is usually a computer problem, I have seen it a few times on a corrupt windows install.

If your service contract from the distributor is though Mutoh that idea will not work. Using any 3rd party ink while under any Mutoh service contract/extended warranty will void the warranty. Personally I would not by a extended service contract for a VJ, they have been rock solid machines.

We have seen static issues with a couple of customers. Given 24 hours to acclimate to your print environment (the media) these issues go away 99% of the time. Do you happen to be running a Roland? Ryan

1204 and the 1304 will NOT print magnetic. The 1604/1614 on the other hand will with some minor work. If you use a magnetic designed for digital printing it should come with a carrier/spacer between the wraps of magnetic. This is designed to keep the mag clean and keep it from sticking to the...

Interesting, never heard that before. I could never get flexi to go wider than 48" using the 1204 driver. Of course this is with Mutoh Edition FlexiPrint DX, could be different than the other flexi products?

Derf, A simple solution is to use the 1604 driver, then set the default media width down to 54". Good Luck, Ryan
