  1. Olive LED out of business?

Yep. Better to stick with a more well known MFG. But sticker price is always EVERYTHING to most people. Like "hey you can buy this brand new car from Shenzen and in ~5 years it will be junk and you can't get parts for it, but hey it's cheaper than the other ones."
  2. Anyone know where I might find this in vector format?

You should have given them a PDF with an embedded raster image, or a PowerPoint file

  5. Need Help Flexi Rip and Print job shows in print status and can’t be removed.

Try "job monitor" program on the start menu under SAI. Maybe you can remove it from there.
  6. Question Halo Lit Advice Needed!!

You need power penetrations from the back of each letter into the wall. If you're not doing the electrical, ask the client how their electrician plans on wiring it up with no access.
  7. Oracle 651 and Outdoor Backlit Sign

How much would they be saving by using cheaper vinyl? $100? Sounds like a customer I would be cautious in dealing with. Make sure you get a nice deposit first.
  8. Early browning on laminated IJ-180c sign in southern Arizona

    cast laminate or GTFO :D
  9. Early browning on laminated IJ-180c sign in southern Arizona

I'm curious to know what the actual laminate was.
  10. Legacy Software that is ESSENTIAL for machine operation that is no longer maintained should be free. (Right To Repair)

You don't NEED versaworks 5 for this printer. You can use flexisign, and some others. I've probably wasted $40 just reading this post.
  11. Well, here tis.....................................................

The third icon should be a "?" not a half man/woman. This is more indicating a hermaphrodite.
  12. Another new permitting request

Are they verbally asking you, or it's something that's listed on the permit application? I would just send in the application with whatever drawings you have and see what happens. When stuff like this happens remember, you're the sign expert, not them. Just give them what you think is needed.
  13. Client refusing payment

Are they unsatisfied, don't have the money, or just don't want to pay? Call and tell them you want to see about getting the invoice paid and ask for a credit card number. You should eventually get paid.
  14. Cleaning steel sheets

    lacquer thinner
  15. It would have been better to just make a new sign

This sign was designed in Excel.

It looks like painted, corroded aluminum
  17. Removing old vinyl

    Hot water pressure washer
  18. NEVER BUY A ROLAND!

New washers aren't allowed to use as much water or electricity than they did 20 years ago. And they found half the parts in the old appliances cause cancer in California. So they all needed to be re-engineered. In the future you won't be allowed to purchase a new car, because you'll own nothing...
  19. Food Trailer Wrap Question

I think in the year 2022 printing anything like this all pixelated is completely moronic. That was ok 10-15 years ago when HD images were harder to come by.
  20. Suggestions Looking for Stone Work for Pole

The stuff you're looking for is "stone veneer". Lowes and Home Depot sell a certain brand of it. Usually if the client wants stone work, I tell them to hire a stone mason to do that part of the sign, or I will recommend someone that does it.
