  1. Suggestions GRAY OR BROWN ??

This is something you can fix in your RIP. It varies depending on the RIP, but basically you need to tell it how you want it to make gray. You can make gray with CMY or primarily K. When you make it with CMY, it comes out brown.
  2. Big Circle...

To adhere the two pieces together you use PVC cement. You can use the stuff you put PVC pipes together with, but for making indoor sign structures out of expanded PVC sheet, I have found Weld-On #16 to be the easiest to work with. It doesn't dry instantly, but it is therefore easier to control...
  3. Digital Camo pattern needed

There are lots of generic digital camo patterns available from the usual clipart suppliers. But you originally asked for Sitka Waterfowl, which is a trademarked pattern. You aren't going to be able to find that.
  4. Need tips for replace 30'W 3'H sign face and potential 50'

These are local/regional companies. I don't think we have any national rental companies. There are only 3 choices here.
  5. Need tips for replace 30'W 3'H sign face and potential 50'

Around here it's more like $375-$450 a day and the construction companies and electricians have them reserved most of the time and you have to wait for one.
  6. RIP/dither issue

The thing that seems off is that the black dots are not uniform across the whole circle or square. Many of the shapes have a rim with no black dots, not to mention the unevenness across the shape. And those black dots are huge. Definitely something wrong in the way the RIP is doing things. I...
  7. RIP/dither issue

I don't think you should be seeing huge dithering like that, uneven or not, with an inkjet printer. What resolution and passes are you using?
  8. RIP/dither issue

Are those supposed to be solid colored squares?
  9. Need Help Window perf

It's way easier to install on a window if it's cut to size before approaching the window. Make it so that it will get to within 1/8"-1/4" of the edge, being careful of the rubber gasket material. As far as edge seal, we have never needed it. My personal vehicle has had a perf wrap on the back...
  10. Need Help Searched with no luck

According to Whatfontis.com It's included in this font collection: https://summitsoft.com/products/creative-fonts-4000/
  11. Need Help Window perf

Although I might consider wet application on a hot window in the sun, I have never found a need for installing perf vinyl wet.
  12. Font ID Needed

Times New Roman Bold, narrowed to 68.4% and kerned poorly
  13. Need Help Drying on take up roll for Vehicle Wraps

We don't print full rolls. We have enough room to dry about 60 ft of 54" vinyl overnight. During the day we can handle about 32' drying while we work.
  14. Need Help Drying on take up roll for Vehicle Wraps

Solvents really can't get out of tightly rolled vinyl. T evaporate, the solvents need access to air. We unroll prints completely and lay them flat to dry.
  15. Discussion Have ya gotten the feeling......................

And the sad part of it is, because they think they know how to use the computers and attached machines, they think they know how to do everything and don't want to be told about how a sign should be made, what should or shouldn't be done design-wise, what the real purpose of the sign or wrap is...
  16. Define... "The Craft"

I think an easy way to describe it is to ask what makes craft beer "craft"? Why is farm-to-table a movement? Why is one of the runaway most successful food television shows DDD rather than a show about how chain restaurants pack them in and build their stock price?
  17. Discussion Have ya gotten the feeling......................

Agree. That's what I do. But when you see people on here telling everyone that all they need to do is churn and charge less (except of course for exorbitant design and rights fees) and even the whole outsource everything people (why do you suppose there are large format factories employing...
  18. Discussion Have ya gotten the feeling......................

I started in this business when vinyl lettering was just starting to take over from hand painted. And I appreciate the technology and the things it makes possible. However, the influx of young people who view it as just another business to milk for profit and have no connection to the end...
  19. UltraChrome GS3 Inks

It's 3 years from date of manufacture. It says so right on the box and the cartridge label.
