HP's Gen 3 inks are pretty awesome. Had solvent/eco-solvent for years (mimaki, roland, HP), went to HP latex 570 about 6 months ago, best move we made.

No so easy in Flexi due to limited gradient functions, but you can make it in Illustrator or photoshop and save as a .psd or .png and import into flexi pretty easily. In flexi you would basically make the shape you want and create a block shadow and than fine tune it.

Not sure if this is the best option but can you do it in layers with knife tape? This way you can re-adjust the lines if you need to since it's a pretty simple shape it should be pretty easy to do the math/measurements.

I think Fenris has the right idea, we use the Gerber Edge all the time and it can do metallic, white, translousants, etc... just limited by size.
