Ya I already partially took it apart to see what was going on and we determined it was the clutch bearing, just looking for a part number to see if we could order another one form some where. Where did you get yours made?
Try using just regular soapy water. We do it all the time with clear graphics on plexi, lexan, glass, and never have a clouding issue. If you really want to make sure there is no issue use a clear dish washing soap and spray down the area and the back of the graphics and apply.

Can you not use standard vehicle templates? I would think that would be the easiest, than you could plot them any time as well as show client a proof. Another option would be to use knifeless tape and take measurements at specific points so that way you could repeat it on other vehicle if needed.
We just did a huge project with this. So there is a sensor on the back of the carriage that you will need to 'fool' I just used 1" masking tape and ran it about 18" or so on the bottom of the material and it worked fine.
Having an issue loading a role of 3M Dusted material into my HP Designjet 8000s. When I load the media, it is unable to find it giving me a message that the media is misaligned and needs to be reloaded. I think that this might be due to the transparency of the material and backing.

We use 3290 for many of our reflective signs and don't have any issues and we have some pretty extreme conditions up here. Are you planing on printing on these? if so the ink will probably fail/fade first.
What about making the trailer design look more like the vehicle? Using the elements/colors from the vehicle rather than the vehicle itself might help with the poor car image issue.
