We used to use IJ180 exclusively, but switched to IJ40 because of the cost difference. The majority of our stuff is still IJ40 because we've had good luck with it. But it has 2 noticeable drawbacks - 1) it isn't white. When you put 180 and 40 next to each other, 40 looks almost 10% darker...

Has Graphtec updated a single model since Windows Vista? Seems like they settled on some turn of the century models and have just kept making them with no change for decades. They're like Japan's version of Gerber.:p

When HP dumped support for the Designjet 26500, we upgraded to a Latex 560, but we were left with a stash of 26500 inks. We attempted to sell them on Ebay, but we had a package/shipping malfunction and the jerk who bought them tanked the transaction and sent them back minus the damaged ones. So...

Can't emphasize that IJ40 caveat enough - that stuff is bulletproof on flat surfaces, but it'll fail soooooo fast around a curve or in a corner.

Might be cheaper to find a 15 year old printer still in the box than spend the $$$ on a new Omega upgrade.

She definitely attached the bottle and hose. It just didn't move and apparently air was keeping the liquid from releasing.

We had ours for a year and the container was bone dry. But the console said 22% full. When detached the lid and hose and twisted them, oily water started pouring out of it. Apparently, the original seating of the container didn't allow any liquid to flow out. Another great HP design!

OMG . . . the line "we're not Cricut users" should be enshrined somewhere!

Don't we all kind of do the same thing? Roll up all that falloff with the intention of using it in the future. Then 5 years later you discover that you've got a box filled with 200 little rolls and take it to the dumpster.

Is Avery 900 White ever the "right vinyl"? LOL. That product has gotten incrementally worse every year for the past 20 years.

You should just charge the customer the full, laminated price and then laugh at them when they come back within 24 hours of installation asking why the graphics are trashed, scuffed, and pulling up (which seems to be way more likely than some catastrophic liability accident).

This is amazing. Kind of feel like I should have done this to our CET when the nozzles decided to fire continuously for a full day and turn our shop into a gas chamber.

We had ONYX 11 for many years and recently upgraded to 21. Almost all of our WTF cursed cutting issues with our 8600 went away overnight. I will say that if you gang up a bunch of cut jobs and use the "conserve media" option, the potential for wackiness seems to go up exponentially.

Agree completely on 3M 8518. It is such a nice look, but it'll often unexpectedly just start cupping and bubbling randomly so I cringe if I have to use it on something more than 3 or 4 ft. So so many tantrums over the years. LOL

If you watch any of HP's videos on the machine, and the Onyx series about it, they go to great lengths to emphasize that this machine is for people who are printing end to end on rolls and just changing out empties. The salespeople pushing the machine, on the other hand, seem to do gymnastics...

It would have been nice if our supplier or HP had given us a head's up. Just discovered this sad truth today and it's a giant obstacle.

No political commentary. But JFC, this wall . . . every time something goes wrong I have to look at the President sitting in front of this truly dreadful dimensional letter atrocity. No offense to who did this, but taxpayers should want their GSA cash back.
