Ya got me on that one. Odd that it wants to perf cut.
Only cross platform stuff I've done is at school. Print on Roland using Rasterlink file then cut on Mimaki flatbed. Clunky interface but it worked.
Never had an issue with my Summa reading the standard mark. Only reason I could see larger marks is to compensate for less than accurate loading. Flatbed in the lab we use 1.375" squares so we only need to get close when placing sheets. Makes a larger target for the laser to find. Doesn't...
Mimaki has auto-set for the pinch roller pressure. Weird watching the little carriage come across and hear the clicks. Looks complicated and expensive to repair. JMO.
Wow that's a lot of cutting! Not sure any plotter is made for those kinds of numbers. If I was doing that kind of volume on a regular basis I would have gotten a digital label press with laser cut, auto-weed and rewind. Expensive, but made for high production with very little human...
To the OP: I have both and my preference is for Macs. Especially after having to upgrade my RIP server to Win 10. No problems with XP Pro or Win 7 Pro but this Win 10 stuff? Really not a fan.
You could spend endless hours debating the merits of each system. Boils down to what works for you...
It wasn't the sensor. It was the flat metal spring that sits at the top of the cartridge slot. It was a dumb mistake forgetting to replace it but it stopped the cartridge error. I wouldn't recommend doing the same thing.
No how to guide either. I wouldn't recommend doing what I did. New...
Had that with my cyan cartridge slot. Cleaning the sensor helped a little. What ultimately worked on mine was forgetting to reinstall the flat metal spring on top of the cyan slot. I had disassembled the printer to do the cleaning and reassembled without realizing I had parts left over...
Only remade registrations a couple times. Not because anything was wrong but because the clients were causing "issues" on the water. Ooops.
Truth to tell most of the registrations I make are technically illegal by DNR standards. S'posed to be 3" tall, block letters and black in color. IIRC...
0.030" may be a tad tall running the risk of a brutal head strike. Was told no on my Roland, not even going t try it on my Mutoh. I ran the fridge magnet on the Roland at 0.015" but that caused it own issues.
If I had a flatbed I wouldn't even consider anything else.
Neat. Makes me wonder if it's the same product from 15 years ago. Way back then a Roland dealer showed me some samples and said zero issues at highway speed and stays on in the car wash. Can't remember the name but the company went out of business shortly thereafter. Was way better than...
I don't understand some business owners. Really irks me that my supplier refused to put stuff outside their door for me to pick up. No contact, social distancing but they refused. Hopefully I can find a supplier for foam pvc then I can refuse to do business with them.
Glad to hear its working again. I learned a lot with my Roland and sometimes I went through a lot of head scratching. Best thing I learned is to go after the easy stuff first.
