I have the fastest plotter
We took an old plotter apart changed some of the resistors, messed with some of the dials on the control board and doubled the input voltage.
It now goes 2x the speed of light.
In fact when I put a 50 yard roll of vinyl in and hit send
it causes time to go backwards
Maybe it was only worth $3.67
Or maybe they were doing a 10,000 dollar job there and they threw this in.
If it was a poorly designed ineffective pos that's just ink on a sticker it's not even worth that much.
On the other hand if it was a brilliant masterpiece that drove in tons of business...
I understand your grief.
Yes a lot has changed in the past 30 years.
I see it like this.
The cheap plotters and printers have have created a fork in the road of traditional sign crafting for the small to medium size sign shop.
The one road leads to a cesspool that's filled with maladroit...
If it was our project and building from scratch we would do poles through the box with a pole pocket at the top of the cabinet.
This simplifies fabrication, delivery and installation. A lot.
Why have any more moving parts than you need?
Just follow the rules of illumination when designing your...

Not much future in paper
And now that I think about it not much future in cutting vinyl or printing either.
Don't sweat it.
People can only aggravate you with your permission.
Yup it's the $8,000 jobs that go easier than the $80 dollar ones.
Myself I can smell it coming and I either ignore them or make it clear upfront that we are designers and there is a fee.
I feel for you because still every...
Designing projecting signs that are subject to wind loads is serious business.
It's like asking I want to do the work of structural engineer how do I do it.
There is no fit all answer.
Lot of things to consider when designing an install
Height of bracket,bracket material,weight of sign,size...
For me it depends on their attitude.
If it was just a polite hobbyist who is willing to pay.I would probably just give them some scraps.
Hobbyist or newbies are not a threat.
If it was someone with an entitlement attitude who's going to conquer the world and make huge profits with his new toy...
Nice posters.
I never found much use for them though because we don't get into discussion about materials with our clients.
No need to confuse them or educate them in that area.
Substrates have little to do with the outcome of a sign project.
They are just the medium used to make your ideas...
Try searching vehicle templates and see what you get.
Also try searching magic button for vehicle wraps.
I think there is an app out there that all you have to do is enter the make and model and the name of the business and it creates a logo & design ready for print.
I am always looking to improve our software.
Would buying this be an improvement for us ?
We use corel,ai,cocut and rasterlink
Could you explain the benefits of using flexi versus the above ?
There is a little more to readability than letter height.
Letter visibility charts are just are just a starting pointing and tip of the ice burg when it comes to creating an effective sign.
Depends on your design and the message you want to deliver.
If you are trying to get people driving at...
