  1. 3am

Just to clarify, it was late and I was a bit punchy. I enjoyed teaching very much mostly because of the kids. The job just simply didn't pay enough and I taught art which meant I had no clue from year to year if I still had a job because of budget restraints. Art and music always go first when...
  2. 3am

3 am and just finishing a large panel truck with a bazillion rivets, now to go clean screens and get them ready for print runs tomorrow afternoon. Remind me again why I'm not teaching high school any more, oh wait, I remember, curtain climbing crumb snatching house critters.
  3. screen printed aluminum signs

Been a screen printer 35 years now. When you tell me you want one item screened I tell you no and move on. One offs are exactly what vinyl graphics are good for. Unless of course your one item is four color process, then you get a pretty digital print.
  4. looking for a new cutter either a summa or a graphtech

I can't tell you personally about summa but my experience with graphtec has been positive for many years. I can tell you that all the people I know who have a summa cutter love them as well. I would guess that either will serve you well in my humble little teenie tiny opinion.
  5. Rip & Cut (ARMS) software needed, I was duped.

It might not work but try giving cadlink a call and they can let you download a 30-day free trial of signlab and see if they have the drivers and necessary software to run the equipment you have.
  6. Any use of "strokes" or outlines should be for print only.

Print designers have no clue how to design for our industry. End of story. They don't teach anything in secondary or post secondary except adobe products and consider their students to be ready to go with an adobe certification. I very rarely open adobe software. I have it, understand it, can...
  7. Kudos

Much as I bash when things aren't right I will indeed praise when things are handled right. I finally upgraded my workstation as I am retiring my Seiko ( anybody want this sucker?) . Contacted Cadlink to make sure I purchased a machine my ver 8 p&c would run on. Had trouble with install. Cadlink...

  11. Little help around trailer screws

If you use a 4 point you can shred the screw twice before you have to tap it, lol.
  12. Little help around trailer screws

Yeah, it looks so sexy all bubbled up underneath . Nothing says you have to put the old screws back in, use pretty new ones. You don't remove all at once, do it as you go.
  13. Little help around trailer screws

+1 r&r screws here when possible.
  14. Can I buy or make a roll holder?

I think u-line, home depot and lowes have them as well. Just happened to grab a few at HF one day while burning their 20% off coupon.
  15. Can I buy or make a roll holder?

  16. Does anyone charge for site visits?

If it costs me time, it costs you money. Gets rid of tire kickers.

  18. Koozies

I buy blanks from Kolder and print them myself.
  19. Fax it to you? Seriously?

I still have people come in once in a while and ask if we can fax something for them or make copies. We are in a rural area but very close to the big city. A lot of these people seem surprised that we don't charge to do that for them, just being neighborly after all. Our desktop is an all in one...
  20. Window Perf Lamination

I don't laminate perf. It is short term. Optical lam gets foggy relatively quick. The amount of store fronts I do is considerable for the liquor industry and they get changed out before they die. Wet app makes it re-positionable if I accidentally get off register and stops taring issues because...
