Funny how both of the type designers who digitized this font came up with completely wrong names. The original design was by Jakob Erbar, not S.H. de Roos, who did design a somewhat similar typeface, and the style is clearly Art Nouveau, not Art Deco, which are not even remotely similar.

We have a sort of policy here: if a client sends a Word/Excel/Powerpoint file, we assume they need help with the design, so we send a design quote.

You just need to use a font that supports Japanese characters. Then you should be able to copy and paste the text from whatever source you want, i.e. Google Translate. Obviously someone who speaks Japanese would need to proofread it, I think that's a given.

There are a thousand different places to start with this. What was the CMYK code? Do you have any photos of the results? Does the manufacturer have a recommended colour profile? Did you use the right profile? Is your monitor calibrated to any standard? And hopefully you understand that CMYK...

You don't need to take any measurements if you just google the wheelbase. That's how we do it sometimes.

We use PDFs for contour cutting on VersaWorks all the time. 1. Is your cutline set to a spot colour named "CutContour"? 2. Do you have any transparency effects or images with transparency in your design? If so, you may need to flatten them before VersaWorks will recognise the CutContour spot...

It kind of looks like ink transferred from two printed faces being pressed together. On the other hand it also looks like a sign that's been left out in the rain and is just a little dirty.
