  1. Gradient Colors Not Matching

My suggestion would be to post your production file and a clear photo of what came out of the printer, so we have a little more info to diagnose your problem. EDIT: Yes, it could be your rendering intents on raster vs vector. I don't understand why that was ever implemented on RIPs as a...
  2. gradient question

A gamut issue is not the root cause of the problem. This is just how CMYK printing works. It would be logical to assume that if you start with 100% cyan and 100% magenta and transition to white, keeping the cyan and magenta in equal amounts, the hue would stay constant, but it doesn't. It...
  3. Need Help files not opening in Versaworks

Have you tried saving it in a different format or flattening transparencies and re-saving?
  4. Funny video of falling letter

LOL if you look for another clip, the E at the very end falls off too. Also you can tell by the spacing and slight tilt on some of the letters that they had probably fallen off and been put back up several times before the speech.
  5. Custom?

If you could post the original raster image from before it was auto-traced, that might be easier to identify.
  6. Need Help Can't find this Font???

Looks like the Gaviscon heartburn medication brand uses a similar font in some of their packaging designs. They probably had a design agency customize the font and put their name on it instead of Sydney Serial/Opti Keene/Baker Signet. Funny how it found its way into a plumbing company logo...
  7. Mystery script

Might help if you posted the original sample in addition to your edited version.
  8. Need Help Can't find this Font???

Can you post a screenshot of the Missing Fonts window?
  9. Need Help Can't find this Font???

I'd assume jfiscus already knows how to do that, and is trying to find the font so he can set new type.
  10. Need Help True black to transparent fade or gradient.

When you're fading from a colour to black in CMYK, you need to add your CMY values to the black end of the gradient. Transitioning to 100K will not give you what you're expecting (well, it will if you understand how CMYK works).
  11. Need Help Can't find this Font???

Baker Signet is the original design. Sydney Serial and Opti Keene are ripoffs of Baker Signet. No idea what Gaviscon is. Baker Signet « MyFonts
  12. Logo guidelines specifies a pantone color but...

If the brand manual you were given just says 185, that's actually the best way to spec a Pantone colour for a brand. The suffixes are for different types/formulas of inks that are all meant to produce roughly the same colour. Now, in reality, a 185 C, 185 U, 185 CP and 185 UP all look a little...
  13. Discussion So, how many are gonna...............................

Exactly. The right to peaceful protest is at the core of any free country, and is enshrined in the American constitution, as it is here in Canada.

  16. What is a more proper description?

I think it's safe to say from all the responses here that there is no standard system and you should always specify which is width and which is height.
  17. Need Help Do you sell online?

We were forced to try online ordering a few years back and it was a disaster. All we got was godawful artwork from the "design online" tool that needed to be redone, and customers that wanted the lowest possible price on a banner for their sister's birthday. No thanks.
  18. Need Help Design tips for curved rear window - perforated vinyl

We just use pre-made vehicle templates. As long as we don't put anything too close to the edges of the window, we've always been fine. Don't try to curve your artwork to cancel out the curvature of the window. It'll only work from one viewing angle and it'll look worse from all others. When the...
  19. Need Help Do you sell online?

It would not fit our business model. We don't have any one category that's repetitive enough to adapt to e-commerce. Most of the work we do requires interaction with clients and offering our expertise.
  20. Font ID Help

No matches here. Perhaps you could just change it to a better font that's similar, like Minion, Garamond or Arno. That R is atrocious.
