  1. What would cause bubbles to appear weeks after intial install?

Are you using a solvent printer and letting it offgas before laminating it? It rarely happens... But I found when we did have non offgassing issues it was on polycarb / acyrlic. I'd also alcohol wipe everything down before re applying this time. Just incase the material is contaminated with...
  2. To Print or Cut?

No not to scare you. But that trailer will likely fail :( you're not supposed to wet apply air release vinyl. The tiny holes trap in the water and prevent the vinyl from adhering.... Unless it was a very warm day and the water evaporated quickly, you may get a bunch of lifting in a few days.
  3. New Zealand

All of you guys complaining that theres been very few cases and everything is locked down / people are wearing masks and distancing because of it.... Look at the cities that arent doing that. The cities that dont do face masks / shut downs are the ones getting lots of cases. be thankful your...

Hey now. USA is Canadas Mexico, if anything Canada is #1! :p
  5. New Zealand

And just to point out... Every state can make their own covid rules. California went into lockdown early... They had mandatory masks as early as June... But they're still getting big uptick in cases. And the schooling thing... Our province is doing the same. I think during a pandemic...
  6. New Zealand

Don't get me wrong, I think Trump has done a shitty job with covid. Probably one of the worst when it comes to dealing with it. I don't think he's up to the task to deal with it at all. But it's like managing a company. Dealing with 100,000 people and getting them unified and on board with a...
  7. New Zealand

Density is something big to consider. New Zealand has less people per square mile than even the smallish country cities do. That said...nz locks down early. They didn't say "oh it's only 15 cases... It'll go away on its own" and keep things business as usual. They're in a lockdown to get...
  8. Graphtec FC9000 Print and Cut Issue

Are you sheet loading? If so try to load it as a roll instead of a sheet. We.dint use onyx with our fc9000... Didn't know it was available yet when I asked a month or two ago I was told.it wasn't, so it could just be new and glitch.
  9. Need Help HP 570 Color Issues

What expirey date is on the box? Most of the time it's not a problem. I had an ink expired for 6 months, and it destroyed a head somehow. It worked.perfectly when I out it in... Then after 200ml it was dead. And of course out of warranty due to.the expired ink... Another thing to consider...
  10. Please share your tip/trick that will keep this contour cutting catastrophe from happening again

The graphtec has a big lever in the back that changes the pressure...3 settings, low, medium and high. It's in the worst spot because I've had media thats curled go up, hit it, and change it to loose...then it of course skews because one side has pressure and the other doesnt...
  11. Please share your tip/trick that will keep this contour cutting catastrophe from happening again

I'm not too familiar with suma... But for graphtec we have intermediate marks. Where it'll put a set of marks to read every xx inches, I usually set mine to every ft since all you waste is a few cents in ink. are you using 4 marks (Just the corners) or more? If the media is skewing it has to...
  12. Need Help Need to purchase Oracal 3640-G 30"

If oracal still makes it, Grimco can get it. It just might take them awhile. Usually they get shipments every 1-2 weeks. 30" isnt that common and is usually special made / ordered. Do they have 54" they can slit into a 30 / 24 for you? That might be your only option. I see 54" is in stock in...
  13. Have you had issues with the adhesion of the ink on coroplast?

I think since you buy our plastics, you should start shipping to our country!
  14. Tangential or drag knife

It depends on what you're doing. Tangential is way better for sharper corners, smaller text, thicker materials. If all you're doing is cutting print and cuts and larger graphics... It's not worth the upgrade.
  15. Need Help Oracal Question

3640 uses white glue. So the back of it will be white. 3641 uses grey glue...so the back will be grey Other than that, it is the same. Some people like grey because while it's not a true blockout vinyl, it does a better job at blocking out anything underneath of it than the clear glue does...
  16. Any differences between Graphtec FC-8000 vs FC-8600?

I tried to buy a pinch wheel assembly for my 8600... and graphtec said they no longer make them. My machine is 1.5 years old, bought brand new. I'm a little miffed I cant get a pretty common part - it makes me worried about what will happen if the main board or something else dies in it. The...
  17. Any differences between Graphtec FC-8000 vs FC-8600?

The 8600 is also not supported. You can no longer buy extra pinch roller assemblies for them... Graphtec stopped making parts already. 8600 has a better arms system, it has Lan connection, it's smarter at reading marks... For instance if you have 10 marks on each side. The 8600 will read...
  18. Need Help How to lay down a big graphic and how to align it?

What material are you using? And what printer? Vinyl does stretch when you apply it, depending on how you do it. Take the print and lay it down on your floor before applying it and see if it aligns. If it does you know it's the installation. If not...it could be your printer. We align the...
  19. Window perf lifting in corners... solutions?

You can get Matte edge tape. 8520ES is the product code. Not sure how wide known it is... but all edge tape is, is the corresponding overlam cut down to tape size. IE 8520Es is just 8520, So if you stock the overlam...you can just cut it down to whatever size strips you need. We never edge...
  20. SG2-300 Nightmare for Diecut Stickers! Help

From the sound of it he's cutting all the way through and it's chewing up his strip and blade. Not too familiar with Roland's, so I don't know if you can get a better perf cut. You can buy a graphtec and do it seperately through illustrator... No need to purchase a whole new printer and...
