  1. Design then tweak, tweak, tweak, tweak

Oh, yeah, here's one of mine. Just looking at this makes me feel like a hoarder.
  2. Design then tweak, tweak, tweak, tweak

I think I've seen at least 80% of those. Great work! I'm guilty of doing this too for jobs that I'm really excited about, but the customer only sees about 25% of what I come up with . I have to pull the reigns back a bit or I come off looking compulsively DESPARATE.. "Maybe we should just...
  3. Massive BBQ SIGN -3D-

Do you spray the Gatorhyde in house? That's the same stuff used for truck bed liner. I've used Styrospray before only because it looked like less to deal with, but I don't think it had the longevity of the Gatorhyde.
  4. Massive BBQ SIGN -3D-

EPS or pink foam I'd guess. what did you use for Hardcoat?
  5. DC-3 Plane with Earth with a can sign with Raised letters.

Nice to see a sign shop that can actually build something. Excellent work! How do you cut your foam? All hot wire? Hotwire cnc? EDIT... I just noticed your Dog Bone joints! Brilliant!
  6. Stock Photography

Design a Logo for a sample company then design a branding campaign for an that entire sample company, implimented on ANYTHING you're shop can do. Mockups for vehicle wrap, coroplast signs, signacade signs, shirts, etc.
  7. Employee handbook

You can start by redoing your logo.
  8. Drawing in Corel

If you don't have a cintiq, most illustrators draw on paper and scan it in, tracing the linework. Drawing with a mouse is awkward ; drawing with an intuos is almost as awkward, a bit less awkward. I've done quite a bit of illustration where I render and redo my line work with my intuos, but...

  11. Advice on dealing with a non-paying customer?

You might want to call daily to his bank ( the bank on the check )to see if the money is in the account. The bank can't tell you how much is in there, but they can tell you if it's enough money to cover your check. You're not going to make any friends with this guy when he finds out the...
  12. Shop logo re-design

Still could use some work, but it's infinitely better than your first logo.
  13. Unusual invention

A vote for the Taco Turret.
  14. I need to install these 3-color decals today. Quick question on 'where' to layer.

Metallics, Reflective, Frost, Translucents, Gold leaf vinyl.
  15. sign

Looks great! Did you do this in-house?
  16. LED Acrylic Plastic Signs

I remember first seeing this application at least 15 years ago, but the led lighting was still pretty rough. Looks good!
  17. MDO Edges

I recently made some Mdo signs with a non-exterior Mdo ( I thought all mdo was exterior, but apparently not. ) I primed and painted with latex and an automotive sprayer. Each side received 2 coats of prime and 3 coats of paint. Because I hit the edges at a 45 degree angle of spray, all edges...
  18. Here's a hot market

Glad to see that you're actually antiquing it with real techniques instead using those photoshop faux effects. Here's my latest antiquing sign : I did a lot of translucent layers. Thick latex doesn't sand well ( for distress ), so keep the layers thin.
  19. Changeable Letters?

    Gemini
  20. what would you do serious question

I might give him a partial refund of the deposit, depending on how much time he wasted with me. Mark it up as a "restocking fee". Was there any design involved at this point? That would make a big difference with me.
