Who will be installing the vinyl? Ask the installer how they like to get their prints and what works best for the install.
Make sure you build in at least 3 inches of bleed.
I have similar issues with HP 260 prints not curing on the left hand side of the printer if its ink heavy. I assume because the thermometer is on the right side of the machine. There has to be a temp difference from one side of the printer to the other.
I've tried the dryer sheets method in the past and it did nothing for me.
Best success I've had is using a humidifier and the wide format kit from www.stopstatic.com
if you cant raise the temperature then increase the amount of passes. if you are at 10 passes try 12. after 12 I think it bumps up to 16 passes. Keep in mind increasing the passes doesn't increase the amount of ink it puts down (unless you mess with your ink limits in your profile.) BUT it...
I'm not going to argue with anyone who has a system that works for them. But from what I have read in every Industry mag and book I have ever read has always said to design in rgb. The loss of color gamut is to large otherwise.
A good point.
I use the color gamut option in Corel to let me know when I'm using out of gamut colors. Its not hard to tell when a color is out of gamut just by looking at it.
I hate to be that guy. But designing in CMYK limits your color gamut. Your rip is supposed to do the conversions. Even when you send the RIP a CMYK file it still rips it and converts it.
What RIP are you running? In ProductionHouse you can use the swatch books tool. And it will do exactly...
In my experience creating a profile is pretty easy in onyx. Creating a profile with accurate colors that doesn't waste excess ink is much much harder and requires a lot of knowledge and experience. If its possible I would look into trying to find a profile from the manufacturer.
The pink box isnt an error. It prints light magenta around the yellow lines so you can see it easier. If it didnt the yellow lines would be almost impossible to see.
Ive had this exact same problem in the past and it ended up being static electricity blowing ink droplets around.
We bought a humidifier (because I live in a dry climate), and I bought the wide format kit from www.stopstatic.com.
Also try a different roll of print media. Some brands have more...
I'm using Onyx ProductionHouse 11 with a HP 260 Latex.
I've been having issues with color variation from tile to tile. I'm printing solid color light brown panels.
Per the HP troubleshooting guide.
Where can I find this option in Onyx? I am not having any luck. Or if anyone else has...
Are your prints cured ? Do they have an oily sheen before you lam them? Sometimes for me prints look like they cured fine coming out of the printer. but if I come back to some media that has been printed on that has been rolled up it will look like it didn't cure completely.
I would say...
