Wow That is bad. Whatever printer that guy uses is total crap. I would shop around. There are way better printhouses out there that care about quality.
I have to say. And this is just for me personally. If I'm having annoying vinyl issues. Every time I have went with 3M I havnt been let down. I use lots of brands of vinyl. But if I start having problems I will switch to 3M immedately until I can figure out whats going on. In my experience...
I really try to avoid using soapy water on glass while applying. That said. Let it set for a while. And if its cold out. DONT install. It will just fall apart on you.
David that sounds like hell. You should look into trying to profile your own media. There are many resources here on how to do it. If its your first time and know nothing then I would spend some money and get at least some basic training or call tech support during the process and go to town...
This might be a silly question but have you tried saving the file as a TIF? Also you could try touching up the weird spots in photoshop. Maybe just shift the color in the trouble areas ever so slightly. Ive had my rip freak out on certain colors before and making a slight color adjustment...
an i1 would solve your problem. It sounds like you need to make a custom profile to me. Creating your own profile is no joke when you are first learning though.
Scratching the sign? I'm not following. How are you cutting laminated vinyl already applied to a sign? Ive never heard of doing it that way. Why not cut the vinyl first then apply it?
