    Welcome!
  2. Artwork Storage ?

Cloud storage for the amount of data that some of you guys and gals have can be impractical. But offsite storage can mean taking a backup home with you.
  3. Hello and an apology from se Pa.

Welcome! Just a thought, but a Merchant Membership here may change that.
  4. Powerspec computers?

I would be happy to talk to anyone here on Signs101 concerning computer related questions. I appreciate Addy, Esigns, and Choucove recommending us. We do offer pre-configured solutions, but I am always willing to talk about building a custom computer. We do it quite often for shops who's...
  5. Artwork Storage ?

I am a big fan of a NAS running RAID 1,5, or 10 for data storage. You should still backup your NAS, but it can store, share, and create redundancy of files to protect you against drive failure.
  6. Help, did I just buy some malware?

Mike, that sounds like a pain! I have LOTS of items in my task manager. I would opt for Malwarebytes and a good security software. They cost pennies a day or as mentioned before, I pay nothing (MS Security Essentials). It also pays to be vigilant regarding your web-surfing habits.
  7. Help, did I just buy some malware?

I have been pretty happy with Microsoft Security Essentials. The ONLY problem I have had is that it recently popped a false positive on Chrome. That was pretty funny. Yeah, scammers suck and it looks like you have been scammed. +1 on calling the credit card company for sure!
  8. Flexisign pro 7.6v2 and winodws 7 64bit

Did you try installing XP Mode? MS removed the visualization requirement on the CPU. It has worked on every PC that I have tried. As far as 7.6 working in it, that is questionable as I have had issues with the dongle in XP Mode. I had to reset the USB port every time I opened the virtual PC.
  9. Kia Soul Graphics Art

Welcome Gary. My guess is that you are going to need to manually create the graphics. It shouldn't be too difficult as long as you have a photo of what you need.
  10. What computer should I get?

I think that Bob just likes to argue. I believe that being prepared in case of failure is very different than planning for failure. I also believe that a little foresight is a good thing. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," - Benjamin Franklin When dealing with computers...
  11. What computer should I get?

Bob, you have been very fortunate to have a system last 10 years without spending any $$$ on repairs or experiencing any downtime. My concept of a good business decision is to replace an aging computer system when the amount of increased productivity, reliability, software compatibility, and...
  12. What computer should I get?

Bob, I mean no disrespect in any way, but I would have to assume that your workflow and/or file size is somewhat different than our customers if you are happy with a 10 year old computer running design or RIP. Either that or you are just trying to get a rise out of someone. I can tell you...
  13. Networking

+1 This is how I would do it as well. Only a select few devices get static IPs. The others can go with DHCP. Statics for everything is OK, but sounds like a lot of work for nothing.
  14. Flexi 8.6v2 & 64-bit OS

Yes, Flexi 8.6 will work just fine on a 64 Bit OS. Many of our customers are still using 8.6 on our SignBurst™ computer systems (64 Bit Windows 7 ).
  15. What computer should I get?

Ken, What RIP? Versaworks? How about to plot to the Graphtec?
  16. What computer should I get?

Ken, I wouldn't worry with either of those devices. It would really depend on the software that you use to run them. What software do you use? FYI, we ship to Canada!
  17. Networking

Yes, there is. The question is why do you want to setup all static IPs? I don't know the specifics of your network, but I would guess that you would only need a few static IPs (only certain devices). I would be happy to talk to you about your network if you want to buzz me.
  18. Hello from PA

    Welcome Justin!
  19. What computer should I get?

Mosh, I wouldn't wish a Walmart computer on anyone.
