the water drops don't work at all. just make the background a nice color that compliments the logo and makes it stand out. I like Pat's idea for wood, rust or something like that. the logo doesn't have to be huge but it also shouldn't blend into the background. the beer in the windows would...
ruin it by what? we are talking about how to make a sign. he is asking legit questions and people are giving their ideas. some will be good, some ideas not so much. what's the problem? if you are a pro you usually aren't asking the how much or the how at all so I assumed the OP has not...
that is why I didn't say glue them yourself as it takes the right products, the knowledge and such to do it right. I've seen piles of planks on the ground from those who think they can do it themsleves and had no clue.
glued boards??? get a nice 48" x 96" x 2" or more kiln dried redwood, sandblast it. have you ever made a sign like this? if not, spec it out and send it off to be subbed out for production
PS, yes I know redwood is glued together to make a larger panel. would I glue my own?? not a chance
you do know that there is wood out there? redwood with redwood panels. how are you mounting the panels to the main sign? I would have the background sandblasted with the sign areas left raised and smooth then attach panels to those areas
how big is this base or background piece? .25" should be OK to stud mount to a wall as long as it isn't crazy huge. they want to edges to be brushed but they won't be on the regular brushed aluminum. do they mean silver? you could go with a brushed laminate and paint the edges silver
thansk for that tip. when I read it was nearly impossible to remove with a razor, I wondered what would work. we don't buy that brand but we do work for national sign companies who do
the revised in post #15 is going in the wrong direction. the one that Bly posted with the suggestion of a gun in a holster within the G isn't a bad idea. I wouldn't have that kiddy looking font used for the name on a slant or the overly long shadow but the G is a good idea as it the one you...
didn't notice it wasn't turkey until I'd all ready eaten most of it thinking this is strange tasting turkey. then I read label and found out it was ham. I picked it up as I was just too tired this morning to make a lunch. that won't happen again!
I had a premade sandwich from a gas station. I thought it was turkey from the color of th meat but ti turns out it was ham. if I don't die from foood poisioning, I'll be happy
I like the bottom one in post #7. I think it was all the special effects together that didn't work and once you got rid of some, it is nice and clean. I didn't hate the arrow in the G but it was too much with all the rest in the original. congrats on creating a logo with just type. most...
I like the way the top one looks with the overlapping letters with no outline. the only thing that bothers me is the arrow (?) in the "G". there is a lot going on in the letters and having that is just a little too much. overall it looks good
