Probably the material.
i forget the terminology as im not at work to check but try doing 2-3 scans of each patch and average the results. You choose this when you print your patches, you click the measuring device and adjust the settings. somewhere there you can choose how many times it scans...
Some clients can be an absolute delight. Last week I was doing bit of a complicated task. I had to take a photo of my clients stone benchtop and reproduce the image on glass (exact match) for a splashback. My client must have been happy with the work as when she came to pick up the samples, she...
almost impossible to tell by photo.
When ever the ink bleeds, is still wet or doesn't go any darker. is your limit.
eco solvant and latex should be easy to set ink limits as ink not drying and bleed are common indications.
UV inks has no indications and it's almost guesswork.
i dont know which image is which, but left looks more accurate (in the reds especially)
I use Argyll CMS for monitor profiling, i like it better than i1 profiler.
i1 profiler will do a fine job for printer profiles though. it's a good "all in 1" software for profiling imo. from there either...
Oh in media manager you can compare profiles. media analyser i think? i'll have to check when im at work.
I dont use an Epson s60600 or any variant unfortunately for you to compare.
Just print off some test charts (onyx comes with some) to check how your colours are. or use a Granger Chart...
Using i1 profiler to create icc profiles instead of onyx would have been me.
colorthink pro3 is what i use to compare profile gamut. dont know of any free software for it.
if you upgraded from an earlier version of onyx to 12 and your prints where washed out. That's a media profile issue.
There's nothing to "rework" other than build a new profile or re-linearise it.
Nice write up. Although this would only benefit people with Epson printers as others are different.
I’ve used the Epson workflow too. It’s so much easier and same results.
Sounds like you have an understanding on colour matching.
First off, Do you have a spectrophotometer?
secondly, is that print with spot colour replacement on or off? as it looks like the profile greyscale isn't very good.
Onyx has a spot colour library with all pantone colours with values...
Onyx has a youtube channel with a lot of tutorials. worth the watch.
You use CMYK profiles on most printers, unless the printer uses a RGB driver (mostly desktop printers that have 9 colours and have pre-set ink curves)
I noticed a lot of them say "reply with NO for us to remove you from our list" at the end of the email.
Very tempting, but... it also triggers me to think, if i reply, they know im active and will keep emailing me.
Although my friend actually replied "no" to a bunch and they stopped all the...
Id also suggest getting a better RIP software for starters. +1 for Onyx thrive.
I believe you'd need Onyx Thrive 642. which is about $7000. (us)
that supports:
6 RIP engines (rips 6 images at a time)
4 Printers
2 jobs editors (job editors can be used remotely on different PCs)
Then you can...
i had one of those to do some tests with. except mine was 1300mm.
The quality is very shit. the rollers aren't very sturdy.
But at a light pressure it'll do the job.
i ended up building a table laminator out of the rollers but the rollers suck as previously mentioned.
IT may do the job you...
again I have no exp with solvent printing, but i would assume there's no real need to tough over print, dry time and heater controls if it's set in the media profile? unless you use 1 media profile for different medias.
