I do a few with our 360s. Image quality is fine and the ink is quite durable.
What's even better is buying pre stretched canvas blanks and printing them with our Oce Arizona.
Old ones - and by now they are all old - will probably need the ink tubes replaced once they start letting air in and blowing heads as soon as you put them in.
The belts are about the only other thing that wear out on them.
We used HP5000s for some signage before we got an eco sol.
With the right media and lam the pigment inks can last nearly as long as eco solvent.
Trouble is the inks, media and laminate are expensive so trying to compete in the magnet market will be pointless.
They are good poster printers...
I'd never go back to solvent.
I mean really, do people put a magnifying glass onto your car stickers and complain about the graininess?
If you're doing art repro or proofing maybe there's a reason but for signage I doubt it.
Still, free country and all. Let us know your experience when you do it.
We have both Summa drag knife and tangential cutters.
The tangential is way better for cutting thick laminated printed output.
If you do a lot of that kind of cutting they are worth the premium.
Maybe you just had the knife out too far lol.
Still waiting for a new head. In the meantime it's kind of usable.
It does this weird thing of stopping and jabbing the blade into the vinyl 8 or so times every couple of minutes though.
