  2. Need Help Install signage on corrugated seacan

Hi All, we don't normally do signage on items like this but we have a really good client looking to have their logo put on a couple seacans. They're fairly corrugated so wondering if there are any tips anyone could share to help with the install. Their logo is very simple, 5 letters @ 36" is...
  3. Question Whats your squeegee type for installing ?

Or run them in carpet... sharpens and rounds the edge nicely... Chaz
  4. Need Help Printing White

Unfortunately it would cost way more than its worth to change out to white ink (from what I can remember with the Epson once you set the head configuration you can't change it but I may be mistaken) as you would have to run a cleaning cycle on all lines, swap heads, re-configure, and get up and...
  5. Good Film for Store Front - Blocking Sun

Just Remember you get what you pay for... 3M films are higher quality than others and are mean't to last. We are an authorized 3M dealer here in Canada and we've had some film up for over 20 years without an issue... where we've seen other brands barely last a year before they start to...
  6. Window Films - Polyester versus Vinyl

One of the biggest differences is that polyester films don't shrink line vinyls do. Polyesters aren't necessarily a cling (moveable) either. We use a ton of polyester films (3M Fasara line) that have permanent adhesive. For the most part polyesters are a bit more expensive than vinyls but if the...
  7. CentraPrinthead

I agree.. I would stay far far away from the sites from Indonesia. Chaz
  8. Paying to Play

Don't get me wrong, online plans are great. That's pretty much how we quote everything now is by online drawings... but we refuse to pay for plans not knowing if we are going to get the job or not. Most of the time the GC's will upload them to their FTP site (or similar) and provide a link to be...
  9. Wrapping windows

That is %100 incorrect. You can absolutely apply window film to the interior side of a double pane (sealed) unit. We do it daily as we are an authorized 3M window film solutions retailer (in Canada). There are some MAJOR factors that will determine which films you can use but it is absolutely...
  10. Paying to Play

We have a few things like this that we deal with on a daily basis... one is a major nation wide construction company and it costs us $50 to accept a job... so we started to add that onto quotes each time but when its only a $200 it becomes tiresome the amount of added work to deal with the PMS...
  11. RapidTac RAPID REMOVER

We used it on some trailer graphics that we removed and it worked well. Spray on, let set, scrap off with a plastic blade... It takes a little bit and it has a fairly powerful smell but works! Chaz
  12. Need Help Onyx 12 continuous or pattern print. How?

in preflight you set up your repeats with as many as you want and then in the change media and placement options (top right corner of screen where it shows the green/yellow/red light). set your spacing (you will need to know your gap that you want to leave). This will set up to repeat the file...
  13. Need Help What a FAIL. Glass door all scretched up. Anything to fix it?

So it doesn't seem that anyone knows that tempered glass has good side and a bad side (for using a razor blade). It all depends on the glass manufacturer and their kiln. When the glass goes through the tempering process it goes back into the kiln to get baked again and then a quick high pressure...
  14. PVC Pipe Sandwich Boards... any DIY experience?

I don't think Smart Design Ltd. is around anymore but the guy who created them is Emile Fournier and his new company is http://www.smartslitters.com/en/home.php4 I'm not sure if he still makes them or not but might be worth a shot to get in contact with him. Chaz
  15. 3M Di-Noc for marine applications

The majority of Di-Noc are interior applications only but there are a few rated for exterior use. I would check with your local distributor, as well there aren't too many exterior finishes. Chaz

  17. Need Help #m vinyl peeling off natural gas truck

if they trucks were waxed at some point the alcohol won't take it off (at least in my experience) and had to use a degreaser then clean normally with alcohol. I would check into that and see if they had been waxed at some point... seems silly for a tanker but you never know... had that happen...
  18. Need Help #m vinyl peeling off natural gas truck

My guess would be wrong vinyl, or poor cleaning prior to installation. I've done 3M vinyl on numerous vehicles and it's still on 12 years later (has some cracks and minor shrinkage) but still in good shape. Chaz
  19. RIP for AI

Why not just open the file and save to .EPS and problem solved? Chaz
  20. Is there a problem getting vinyl to stick to real frosted glass?

We've never had luck on sandblasted glass... unless its smooth glass we stay far far away cause you're just asking for trouble. Chaz
