    You get the $50 yet?
  2. Veterans Mural

    Absolutely beautiful!
  3. Thoughts?

Addie, I'm not saying this just to pile on or give you crap, but that is _bad_. Besides being able to design and provide the customer with a logo that's appealing, part of our job is to guide the customer in the right direction. If they want crap, it's out job to talk them out of it...
  4. how would i do this??...speckled flake look

We've used a lot of the MacTac enhancers.. a little thicker than standard cast lam (it has to be, as it actually has glass shards in the lam), but very nice. Looks like metallic paint when you're done. Had a shop truck done in it for about 18 months, and everyone always asked if it was paint.
  5. Hall of Fame threads

Man Doug, you have a photographic memory. What was cappys avatar that got everyone riled up? And Stacy got banned!?! How the hell did i miss that? All this reminiscing has got me wondering "where are they now?". I just googled capital wraps, and the only thing that comes up is Keonis...
  6. Hall of Fame threads

Sf&d should have a few good ones too. Is that what his name was? The dude that was a little off from Maine I think?
  7. Hall of Fame threads

Ho.ly.crap. Its 1:30am and I'm stuck in bed on my phone reading 1/16" tall letters and waking my girlfriend up from laughing so hard. Awesome idea Pat!
  8. Will my banners fail?

I'd still be concerned about the mounting points.. two screws into brick aren't going to hold very well. You might consider a custom bracket that would have 4-6 screws. You could weld up a rigid mount using .125" wall tube and .25" plates pretty inexpensively that would be rock solid.
  9. Side Mirror Issue

Yeah.. don't primer the mirror. *MAYBE* the edge if you're going to do that mirror in one piece. We would wrap this in two pieces and it'll never fail. Just put the bottom piece on first, and put your seams in the least noticeable places.
  10. just fired my first customer!

It's so much easier to fire a customer than an employee..
  11. new UV flatbed

I was very unimpressed with the Roland UV printer too. Pinch rollers to move rigid media is a bad idea, and this printer is SLOW. The ROI on a more expensive, more capable printer would be much better.
  12. Pricing guide advise please!

A sq ft pricing structure on vinyl, whether RTA or installed, applied to a substrate, or whatever is not a good idea. It's a great *tool* to figure approximate costs and prices, but you should price your products on their value. That's why you'll often see people quoting a range.
  13. Copyright Violation Question

    Oh my lol
  14. Female Advice

Aye brotha.. That sucks. Wish I knew what to tell ya. All I can say is I went through the whole unhappy BS for a while, and calling it quits was a huge relief for both of us. Nothing I did worked or made thing better. I'm happier now than I was..
  15. Pay for the new guy in the shop.

We start runners at the $9 mark. They have every chance to move up from there--they just have to possess the ability and desire.
  16. How do you find good employees?

True. Maybe that's why we have such good luck. I've been told by many people that we pay much better than other shops in the area.
  17. Geico brostache app

    Gotta love the Brostache! lol
  18. How do you find good employees?

Absolutely. But, this thread is about employees, not owners. Not everyone has the ability or the desire to own & operate a business. You as an owner should see the value in determining up front the mental and problem solving capacity of an applicant. I don't see what pay has to do with...
  19. How do you find good employees?

We test every applicant. Don't want the job because of that? No problem--you wouldn't fit in here anyways. By the way, our average pay including benefits is over $19 an hour. Just calculated it earlier this week.
