Thank you, will try updating all this info. For some reason they're (IP/Gateway/subnet mask) are all reading as 0.0.0.0, even after I change them.
Spoke to a tech for an hour this morning and the only thing we got to work was switching to USB cable. I'm finishing of this run of banners then...
Update:
Tried new cable, no change.
Rebooted network switch, no change.
Checked TC/IP settings - IP address was different than what is on the printer. Updated that, no change.
I'm at a loss here. I don't get how it can be communicating great every day then a simple reboot ruins everything!
Shut down our computers and printers yesterday for about 10 mins while the electrician was here doing some work.
Fired everything back up, and now I can't send files to our Mimaki UCJV from Onyx.
It is specifically an issue between Onyx Thrive and the Mimaki.
I can print to all other printers...
We laminate our window perf w/ Oraguard 290GF.
The only time I've done vehicles without lam was for a temporary event where the rental vans only had graphics for about a month, and even then they complained that the holes filled with water/dirt. (I was trying to save them money)
After that, I...
THANK YOU!! I was pulling my hair out here.
I'm going to have to download that app - what the font gave me a few close options but nothing 100% accurate.
Thanks again.
This x1000.
You're wasting time and energy beating a dead horse. You'll only waste more time, energy, and money trying to point fingers and get someone other than yourself to take the blame. (as you've seen, they won't) You've admitted repeatedly that you're partially at fault here and I think...
Maybe an XY cutter? https://www.fotoba.com/
They're not cheap but they would automate the process for you. Otherwise the ol' classic trimming by hand does the trick.
Ours is on the way...can't wait!
I was in the same boat as you Tom, we have a Keen Cut and have never been 100% satisfied with it. Works good for down and dirty coroplast signs but I really dislike the way it leaves the edges on ACM and how it cracks PVC if you don't do multiple slooooow cuts...
Sorry to hear about your situation.
From the sounds of it, there might be a few factors at play.
A) That printer is not even close to being a production printer. They look cute, but if you want speed, just about ANY other brand will outperform that printer, although you would probably have...
Hey Phil, appreciate your responses. I'll look into adding more pinch rollers and the nose piece. We just ordered a F1612 so I'll see if the tech can add them on there for us when he's here. Do you think if we added 2 pinch rollers that would be sufficient?
Good to know, thanks! I've tested it out and it does indeed seem to work. I guess there's a fine line in terms of how much pressure the swab is putting on the vinyl - too little and it doesn't keep it down, too much and it's buckling when the cut carriage changes directions and I would imagine...
Some of what you mentioned is a bit above my head, but I do know for sure the inks drastically change color on the UCJV. We spent a full day creating profiles on ours, and the tech didn't take that into account.
If you compare a swatch printed right off the printer with a swatch from the day...
Realistically it will probably fail even faster than regular perf does due to all the exposed edges. Shape cutting perf (even basic, big shapes) doesn't really go that well either.
Personally, I'd discourage the idea and either just go with regular cut vinyl or full perf.
