Maybe check your eps margin in Versaworks? If your stroke is right on the artboard/binding box you may lose some of it unless you have eps margin on, I believe ours is set to .05"
Does this look familiar to anyone?
Trying to match this (Mercury Verado Carbon Edition) for a buddy.
Thought it was close to Sofachrome but it's actually quite different.
Image was too crappy for What the font to help.
Thank you!
Can't comment on the barcode related questions but definitely agree that the summa plotters are beasts! I picked up a cheap older S140T and although it doesn't have a barcode scanner it's scary fast/accurate.
Regarding your question about the plotter using a "spot" for onyx, they don't count...
That's the gloss right? I don't think we've used it before, but we've been really happy with the 2080. We use it for a lot of different things and have never run into issues with it. Good value laminate for sure.
We use Avery DOL 2080 for floor decals. Good price point, is very stable and comes with a slip-resistance rating.

Doing our first run of double sided banners on our newish UCJV. On the first side I just poked a hole on both starting corners so I know where to start the second side after rewinding and flipping the roll.
The issue I'm running into is that the origin point is not accurate. I'm assuming...
We've moved any regularly slow paying customers (or new customers) to prepaid. Given the economic situation it isn't too much of an ask and I haven't heard any complaints.
Yes. Doesn't hurt to put together a list of companies that could benefit from your services and give them a shout to introduce yourself.
I personally enjoy working with other shops, whether it be smaller shops that don't have/want the equipment we have, or bigger shops that need someone to...
The cutting feature on the UCJV is okay - we've had issues with accuracy from the start and so far haven't found a way to print then cut without cropmarks like the Rolands.
95% of the time we cut our UCJV jobs out of Onyx Cut Server on our Summa plotter - this workflow (now that we've gotten the...
Totally different animals.
We have a Soljet 4 and a Mimaki UCJV 300-160 and I would never compare the two. Both good machines, just very different.
Glad you saw some improvements and got some value out of your forced upgrade though!
Yet another reason why I wouldn't buy a new Roland. I'd be pissed to be forced into something like that, obviously it's to correct something that should have been solved before going to market. Yay beta testers!
Awesome, appreciate the info! Pretty amazing technology that it can move sheets like that and still stay accurate. I wish I would've gone for a demo on one of these before all this crap started. Seems crazy to buy something like this without seeing it and playing with it, but might just have...
I heard this was happening when everything started. Even our supplier said the manufacturer stopped answering phones for about a week because they couldn't even keep up with answering them, let alone fulfilling orders. Crazy times.
I wonder how stocked up Gemini and large resellers are....
