  1. learn Photoshop

What HDvinyl said. I used Photoshop for over a decade and while it was handy for what I needed at the time, once I got into the sign business and learned Corel Draw, I never looked back. I very, very seldom ever use Photoshop for anything but color separations for screen printing now. I don't...
  2. For critique

The middle one gives a slight feeling of depth, so that would be my preference. 50% OFF is easily readable from the thumbnail, so I think it's very effective.

  4. Compatible metals question.

The point isn't to find a cheaper solution, but to find the appropriate fasteners to combine with aluminum as to avoid galvanic corrosion of the dissimilar metals... My question is, what would be the best hardware to couple with the painted aluminum. I was thinking stainless steel would be...
  5. Compatible metals question.

They are not using guy wires. The hanger is engineered to hold a sign up to 16 sq. ft. and 56 lbs. We are building a sign that is 9 sq. ft. and weighs in at approximately 23 lbs. so we are well within the engineer's guidelines. I didn't suggest going all the way through the wall. I was actually...

  7. Compatible metals question.

I thought galvanized and aluminum are a bad combination or should it not matter since the aluminum is powder coated? Again, perhaps I'm over-thinking this. I just want to be sure this thing won't corrode and fall apart in 5-10 years. I also want to be sure that it won't do anything funky like...
  8. Compatible metals question.

We are producing an outdoor blade sign that will hang from an aluminum hanger that is manufactured by an outside company. The hanger is made from powder coat painted aluminum and we will be using quick links, chain, and eye hooks to mount the sign to the hanger. To mount the hanger to the wall...

  11. Corel draw X7 Vs. X5 learning curve?

We upgraded from X5 to X7 just a few months ago. At first I felt a little bit overwhelmed with it, but soon realized that it's not much different than X5. I think within the first couple of days I figured out it's quirks. X7 has various workspace options also, so if you are in a time crunch to...
  12. Design Computer

Although I don't really know much about the technical ins and outs of computers these days, the computer I run is a Intel Core I7 3770K @ 3.5 GHz. It has 32 GB of ram and runs on Windows 7 64 bit OS, Service pack 1. Our OS and crucial software run from a Solid State hard drive. I don't remember...
  13. Does anyone have 6" high intensity vinyl they will sell me?

Reflexite V92 is available in both yellow and red in 6" wide rolls. I'm pretty sure you can even purchase it by the yard from Feller's.
  14. Removing decals from stainless steel?

I hope you mean Rapid Remover because Rapid Release is a solvent for removing toupee and wig adhesive.
  15. Font ID please

    Times NR 80 (Monotype/commercial)
  16. MX Decal Co logo

Maybe something more literal? I would ditch the 100%, etc. Quality decals is all the potential customer needs to know. I would use a higher contrast color scheme with brighter colors like yellow, orange, or lime green. Use fonts that are modern and project that feeling of life in the FASTLANE.
