The flatbed uses a vacuum to hold the ink in - if you unplug it without draining the lines, all the ink will leak out. you need to keep it plugged in unless you drain all the lines. You'd need to pay to get it unplug-ready... I'd say leave it on and let it do its cleanings. Last thing you want...
It's a global pandemic. A lot of people were laughing at those who saw the writing on the wall and got prepared. I bought all my supplies / dried goods back when this was still contained in china - A flu that has a 2 week period to infect people where you dont show symptoms? Even if its a .5%...
We did a bunch of tow trucks that were 2 color vinyl - The other installer did them 99% of the time...then he went on vacation and I was tasked with them. Same issue as you...tons of bubbles - I tried pressing as hard as I could, tried going slow... tried to squeegee in different directions...
Put a square registration box around both colors. Weed both - premask the red....align it on your laminator, then apply the red to the black. Much easier with a rolls roller table, but still doable with a laminator.
You use twice as much material, but the customer should be paying if it's...
Hoping you bought a laminator also? Can't wrap a vehicle without a laminator. (Printed wraps anyways... if your doing color changes with colored vinyl, you can)
3M installer training is useless - It's just teaching you about the vinyls in level 1, level 2 is them showing you 10 different...
Rapid prep leaves behind a film.. You're supposed to use rapid prep, then use rapid tac afterwards to clean the rapid prep away. We usually use alcohol, but sadly rapid prep by itself isn't enough - You could likely use soap + water to get it away... but if you've never used rapid prep before...
In Canada we use Univar. I just ordered a big drum... All the stores here have an artificial shortage, but the big chemical suppliers only sell to businesses, so plenty of stock. It's a company that just does chemicals... We do lots of screen printing stuff, so they carry what we need even...
They do have e-commerce software, but we don't have it on our website. They are speedy though so there shouldn't be any problems with it. If you want to see the speed of it, check out www.astrographic.com - lots of videos and other stuff, very Un optimized for speed but is still pretty instant.
We use wordpress - It's ok if you just want a site up and running. You can't do the most advanced customization... but unless you're paying a web developer thousands of dollars a month, you're not going to anyways. If you're just hosting a basic website, or a website selling stuff, wordpress is...
Buy a wire brush from the dollar store and scrape all the holes from the curing module.
They get clogged with vapors / ink and that's the #1 reason for carrying Temps across your bed. We had a bunch of spots on ours that wasn't curing... The wire brush did the trick.
You can take out a used head and let it sit for months and it’ll still work. It might require a few cleanings or a deeper water clean, but we've had some out of our system for 6 months... Pop it in and it's like a new head.
We keep 2-3 of each head on hand - we haven't run into your issue...
For windows usually we just use a heatgun... works the best.
You can use rapid prep after using rapid remover. But then you need to use something to remove the rapid prep... They of course recommend rapid tac, but we just use alcohol. Whenever we use rapid remover, it goes Remover > Prep >...
Welcome to canada where everything costs a fortune.
Allgraphicsupplies.com will be your cheapest bet. If you're looking for just paper, not vinyl... Then spicers.ca (Who just bought all graphic supplies) has a wider selection of papers/media, and specializes in paper products.charge a flat...
I cant imagine even 1 of my customers would read that length of a pdf :)
We have a small 1 page PDF we made inhouse - We dont hand it out much because we usually do all our own installs. It's something like this - (I just googled it now, ours looks nicer / built to our company)...
This was hard to get used to. If I remember to untape the vinyl to the core I can print up to the last 12" on a roll... But everything 4 ft and under I don't even bother with our latex. Too much effort / work for such minimal savings. It is expensive media I save it and use it on our flatbed...
Seiko h2-74s. 8 heads - a year and a half ago we were quoted $4400 per head, including labor to change them. We had 6 heads all die at once... And we were told it's because the heads last an average of 5-6 years. We had the official seiko engineer who makes the machines fly out from Japan and...
Our Seiko needed 5 heads replaced at $4000 a head. That's $20,000 - we were down for a few weeks trying to figure out issue out. We had techs from Japan fly.in and finally said our heads are 5 years old and they need to replaced... That the average is 4-5 years.
So they wanted us to spend...
