  1. Another Banding thread

I have ran 3 different brands of solvent, eco-sol printers now and they all are finicky with solid blues(and some shades of brown). Print Uni-Directional first and foremost, and experiment with different profiles. I've used Oracal profiles for nearly a decade on any media with great results.
  2. Strange sound from Roland SC-540

I agree, sounds like brown power to me. I would look for brown or burnt wires coming out of your breaker box. I would put the printer on its own breaker.
  3. L25500 prints fading in and out

Other than the banding it sounds like contaminated media, do your test prints look ok?
  4. laminator with cut in roll

Resurfacing a roller might be a viable option, they claim cost is typically 1/3 the cost of a replacement roller. http://www.jjshort.com/Laminator_Rollers.php
  5. Q54 same as FC8000 contour cut issue. Can some one look at their settings?

In the ARMS menu verify that PAPER WEIGHT in turned on. It can make a significant difference with some medias and lams.
  6. Another..."Just for Fun"

nice work, that lattice work above the sign could use a coat also.

  8. Looking for some emergency advice

You are correct sir, I misread.....been a long day. A center hinge is definitely worth a shot then might need more than app tape to hold the top though.
  9. Looking for some emergency advice

If it were me, and center hinge is a fail, my next try would be hinging the top, flip it up, peel and tape it up on the window, then spritz your liquid with a double dose on the problem area and lay from the top down. You are getting distortion from your app tape in my opinion. Good Luck!
  10. Choosing Media Profiles

I totally agree with Bob, I use almost a dozen different medias regularly and an Oracal 3641 profile for all of them. The colors are fine, the prints are crisp and clean, for me all that changes are temps and either uni or bi-directional depending on what I am printing(and printing on) at the...
  11. Oracal 751 and 951 cast vinyl compatability

Just means it will "fail" a couple years early...the 951 that is.
  12. Illustrator to Flexi gives multiple masks

I haven't used Illi in a while but it used to have a 'flatten artwork' option in the layers menu that did the trick for opening in flexi.
  13. Feller's "Pop-Up" retractable banner profile for HP Designjet L25500

I have had success using HP's Photorealistic Poster Paper profile, 18 pass UNI at lower temps. Slow printing but looks nice.
  14. Keep cut jobs from deleting in production mgr

Change 'After Output' to 'Hold' instead of 'Delete'.
  15. Upgrading to flexi 12

Sai really needs to put a warning in that update...I mean come on. Check your 'jobs' folder in the Flexi directory....maybe they are still around but I doubt it. You might be able to re-rip the same files? If not, I think you are screwed.
  16. Looking at Epson SureColor S70675PE (Production Edition)

The S30670 can output 1200 plus sq. feet a day with pretty amazing quality of print. Just saying you may want to look at those, we have 2 with very little down time in 2 years. On some vinyls it prints better, more vibrant colors than our 6 color latex. You may also want to look into the...
  17. Caught ya.........................

google image 'cursive letters', most of the charts use the 2.
  18. looking for a prismatic type reflective vinyl thats solvent printable 54" wide

http://www.orafol.com/rs/europe/en/products/traffic-sign-films-product-details/items/oralite-5900-high-intensity-prismatic-grade I'm not sure how well the 5900 prints, the 5700(non-prismatic) prints beautifully on our eco-sol machines. Standard sizes are 48" and 24" but it does say "special...
  19. My Latex Colors Look Like $h*t

try using Oracal or HP profiles for equivalent medias. 3M profiles are garbage from my experience.
  20. Lets talk about cheap... i mean CHEAP

They may be thinking of just slapping one of these on the sign:
