Thanks for the replies! As for a definite line to lay knifeless, no there wont be as the transission is kind of gradual. I didnt think about automotive clear coat and have never tried it. Swinging a paint gun is no problem and have done it many times over including cars. In this situation I...

I am doing a wrap on a truck and I need some suggestions to see how to do it and if it is even possible. The design is petina/rust, faded paint look at the front of the truck and then just before the bed it will transition to "new look" with graphics, crisp lines. The client is asking if its...

  9. Versaworks help

Ok I am with you now. Yes there is a setting for that. I am not near my printer right now and the setting name escapes me. I think the main reason they set the machines to make full passes like that is so that it dont wear the encoder and stuff in certain areas. Everything wears evenly this way...
  10. Versaworks help

The only way I get a "good" black is with using Rolands spot color black. Most everything I do is PrePress setting and with the profile for the media. I do alot on 3165 and it turns out good. I had my machine profiled and we turned down the ink limit so the darker colors were drying better. My...

Honestly have never used the simplify tool. It seemed to help a tiny bit when saving. Thanks for the tip though.

  13. illustrator large vector file question

So I have probably asked this already to some degree but I still must not grasp the best method or way to do it. I have a all vector file with some effects in it. Illustrator will not save it, eps, pdf, tiff etc etc. The vectors have LOTS and LOTS of nodes making them pretty big. I dont have a...
  14. Need Help SOLVED Now Processing on Roland 540

Just go into the sub menu and go through the steps of changing the wipers (even if you dont physically change them) and see if that clears the problem. My guess is no but I am no expert.

  16. Roland XC540 Air Purge

Well if you have more solaris cartridges throw them in to see what it says. If you have some OEM laying around take the chip off them and put on the solaris to try and trick the machine. First thing I would do is try to get it cooled off in the shop or the machine atleast. There is no way the...
  17. Roland XC540 Air Purge

    Are they OEM cartridges?
  18. Roland XC540 Air Purge

Select for the ink setup that you have. If you are running CMYKLmLc then select that one. I dont remember all the choices it has. Just have to select the one for the ink setup you are running.
  19. Roland XC540 Air Purge

No it shouldnt waste the entire cartridge. But the machine needs to purge itself to work correctly.
  20. Roland XC540 Air Purge

Ok, take the bottom right black cover off that reveals the pumps. Restart the machine. Run a cleaning and look at the center shaft of the yellow head pump. See if its turning. If it isnt then that pump is bad. Im guessing it is ok. 84 is really hot and the machine may not like those temps.
