EPSON print heads Can't say what will happen in the future, but todays Roland printers use an older Epson two channel print head. Mimaki and Mutoh have moved up to the newer Epson eight channel print head. I stock them if you need them

Mimaki We had the same problem, we upgrade the firmware to 2.1 an the cutting issues resolved. There is also a anti static kit for that printer but I have not installed it.

Auto cleaning Yea, Roland added that feature to it's newer firmware. Use carts without chips and it will run cleans until the ink is empty, nice waste of ink and their way of spanking you for not using their ink in your machine. Just put a roland chip off an old cart on and you should be good.

HP needs 220V? Do the HP spec sheets show how much power this system needs? Most other printers in the 60" range use 110. It would be interesting to see what the yearly costs of running a "green machine" would be in comparison to the current solvent printers.

high heat 3M makes a vinyl that is rated that high. I do not recall the part number but we had to go through the industrial division to get it. The end user baked it in a powder coat application.

Cjv-130 Two things about the Mimaki I like are. Available six color printing Take up reel is standard and it will reverse. This would allow you to contour cut a whole roll of vinyl without it hitting the floor and sticking together.
