This morning I have had a customer who keeps wanting amendments on a design.
So why oh why in his last conversation he said "just do what you think works and I'll trust you because you have more feel this designing thing than me"
What do you think I was doing when i first designed it!!!!!
Makes...
I get one of those customers every other Friday!
Please make this customer realise that you are working in your off time!!!
Tell him the price before you do it or even cut it.
I have had customers who aren't in so much of a rush when they find out the price!
I won't do jobs using other peoples...
I am printing a very large banner which is nearly 25' x 10'.
Our printer will comfortably print 5' so i have a problem.
If I use banner hemming tape will this sufficiently hold it together?
I currently use a high tack banner bond tape for hemming and it works on the hems but I am concerned it...
I out sourced our prints for a long time but found out later how rubbish the quality some companies were producing. So ask for samples and a quality pledge.
A friend bought a JV3 and I was given free run of the machine for the cost of ink which was great. I only decided to buy a machine of my...
Watch the 3640 and 3641 as it shrinks so fast.
Absolutley useless I haven't a clue how Oracal sell any as within 6 months it has shrunk by as much as 5mm!
SC
We bought a VJ 1604 which is the 54" machine.
It has been unbelievable for the last 2 years.
Glad I bought bigger than 48"
The 54" and bigger valuejets are a better built machine.

CMYK printers use all 4 colours available to print grey fades.
Yes sometimes you can adjust the profile but you will always get an ish result.
If there is other colours in the design changing the profile will alter them!
Using an i1 will not help you on a fade.
SC
You will never get a 4 colour or a 6 colour printer to print a fade to grey.
Try a few different profiles but you will always get a green or burgundy tinge to a grey fade.
SC
You have done well getting a warranty that will cover the printhead after 20months!
Our VJ1604 has ran almost faultless for over 2 years and the printhead is like new!
SC
Well i've called them.
Can you believe it but I have to upgrade!
There's a supprise...lol
$700 just to add a plotter I don't think so!!!
I have wrote my own drivers in Signlab so I may give this a go.
SC
Yes my signjet is a jx2000 but it doesn't come up on my list.
It does have an optical eye to read reg marks so it should work.
Guess I will have to contact wasatch.

We are running our valuejet 1604 as the printer and it has a mutoh sc 1400d plotter for cutting.
We have started making a lot of MotoX graphics but the plotter is struggling with the material.
Could I use my old Graphtec Signjet Pro2 as the plotter as this cuts a lot harder and it is more than...
Yes very vague question that one!
Best to start to find out what your competition is charging!
I wish their was a magic formula you could work out jobs with but their isn't.
Experience and what the local market can afford dictates prices.

The PSU is 450W so should be OK
I understand about the 2 drives so I may switch to 2 250GBs or partition the 500GB into 2!
I wish I could find 500GBs drives for $60 (£40) in the UK...lol
I agree also that the graphics card is more than adequate for design work and probably is overspeced for 2D...
I have a little programme called Ebooster that allows you to use a memory stick as additional memory which ups my memory to 6Gig!.
I have checked and it isn't this thats slows the computer down or makes it access the drive all the time. In fact when this is removed and it is just working on the...
