Just before Christmas I had a few issues with our 1604.
I have removed and retensioned the drive belt on the x axis.
I know I have to change the PF adjustment as i am getting banding issues on some of the lower resolution settings .
I can adjust this while it's printing and taking it up to about...
Sounds a bargain.
We do the complete opposite of you as we design in Signlab and print in Wasatch.
You will see an ubelieveable difference in wasatch's RIP as there are too many variables in Signlabs.
I guess you just get used too what you use as I have had Signlab since Signlab 3.1!!!
I am also...
We ordered some skins from Japan and the material is the cheapest nastiest stuff I have ever seen.
It almost feels like laminated paper but I have delaminated bits and it is vinyl but only just!
If you are trying to be competitive you will have to buy the cheap nasty stuff..lol

HE HE HE this is the first question I asked when looking at a printer.
We are running a Valuejet 1604 we recently swapped to Lyson inks which over halved the cost of inks.
Media is the most expensive part of running one of these printers.
I can't even give a ball park figure as we swap in and...
I started on a IVB then we got a Sprint and then a SuperSprint.
My first place of employment were Gerber nuts and had everything of them that came out.
We were totally in awe of the speed the SuperSprint we thought it would rip the material to bits!!!
Our IVB had an extra box for extra fonts we...
I will spend a maximum of 10 minutes looking for a customers requested logo.
After that it is up to them to find it as a vector file. Explaining what a vector and a raster file is takes a while.
I get the raster file that has been saved as a eps file all the time!!
The public/customer think that...
Get a printer and a cutter it is not worth waiting for the machine to finish a print so you can cut something.
Look at it like a washer dryer against a washing machine and seperate dryer.
I guarantee the cut part of the machine will be needed just when you need to print something!
You will...

I was told you cant mix 440 amd 220ml carts!
You are obviously proving me wrong.
My 1604 can take 440s wthout proping them.
The 1304 must be a different machine.

Well this is how I set up on my own.
I have worked in the sign industry for 17 years (straight from school) a friend of mine reckoned there was an opening for a sign shop where he was (45 miles away) and he had all the equipment and machinery (monumental mason plotter, programmes, etc.)...
A 4b Woohoo
I can't remember when I last used one of those!!!
Why can't you just type it all in on the led screen.....LOL
I have a friend who is a sceen printer who still has a 4b still I will see if his connected to a computer.
I know he was still using it as it has a tangental head and can cut...
I reformat all our computers (6) each year and it is stunning how much faster it makes them.
Just make sure you have all the necessary files to reinstate them!!

I have recently swapped to Lyson Inks on our Valuejet the savings were amazing.
We were paying £56 for a 200ml OEM cartridge, I can buy Lyson 400ml for £40!!!!!
So I have saved loads on ink.
The switch over was easy with a few small ink charges and the colours are exactly as before.
I have...
Ive drilled granite with a masonry drill bit reprofilled/Sharpened to cut like a normal high speed drill.
Do'nt knock the hammer on when drilling.
You may have to resharpen it a couple of times.

I'm now designing in Signlab and Printing with Wasatch.
It colour matches as good as you will need.
Please do not expect any RIP to be perfect as when you adjust one colour it will always change another!
I wouldn't upgrade Signlab as the RIP is useless.
My personal opinion based on what we have...
It's like buying a car with a dead engine.
At least you can push a car.....lol
A broken printer is just an item that is taking up a lot of space!
I reckon you might get that much if it is working.
