Wet application for me too and have some help. Also don't forget to spray the application tape after you apply to window and let stand for a couple mins to help release. Stuff will be slippery for awhile too. Not fun stuff to work with sometimes at the large sizes. xacto will scratch glass...
the HP UV ink has a much smaller color space than the dye ink, I limit UV printing to outdoor usage (with lamination). Indoor graphics go with Dye for far better color gamut
We have both the UV and Dye ink tube kits, takes about 15 mins to swap everything out after you do it a few times. No problem. Think I paid about $1000 for the UV system though back in 2004
most business clients are not designers and really don't know what they want until they see it. I'd much rather design after a meeting with the client regarding budget, usage and objective results expected, then provide several different rough layouts. After the several rough proofs are...

SawTrax etc is good only for rough work. We use a KeenCut system if we need only a few and fast, otherwise a vendor like Laird Plastics has $100,000+ cutting tools and we order from them, cut to size. For fine work I still use my trusty Xacto Board Cutter ($12 Staples or Blick Art Supply) and...
even if you get the paint off it will still have a "shadow" image. The top coat of paint has protected the original paint from UV fading and the difference will show.
We mount and laminate hundreds of posters on Sintra (pvc) and Gatorboard. Avoid FoamCore as it will warp and dent. We run the printed roll of posters (42" wide x 100') thru a hot roll laminator to apply a glossy or matt or texture front surface laminate and at the same time apply the adhesive...
stickers for cars
If your just doing color stickers with solid graphics and one color ( or more with multiple layers) check out a simple 24" vinyl cutter for around $2,500 (Summausa.com) Graphtec or Mimaki al have good ones. No lamination is required. Buy rolls of vinyl, application tape...
