  1. Bordeaux Ink = No Chips ?

I also have a VP540 that I have only used Roland ink in. I keep looking at the savings wondering if it is worth taking a chance??? You hear a lot of good things but all it takes is one horror story to make you stop and think.
  2. Bordeaux Ink = No Chips ?

I am wondering what printer you are using these in and if you like them? I have been considering a 3rd party ink for a while and can't decide on which one to go with.

  4. Designing, CMYK or RGB?

If you use VersaWorks it says to use RGB for raster and CMYK for Vector. The rip actually converts the image to the rgb to cmyk, so if you have it in cmyk, it converts it to rgb then back to cmyk, so you can have really messed up colors from the multiple conversions. That is what I was reading...
  5. Is it worth the upgrade??

If you are looking, I would atleast go with the new VS-640. you won't regret having the 6 color setup if you do any real high quality printing.
  6. Roland new launch VS640 !!!

My thing has always been quality over speed. I am assuming that you are using the 6 color setup as well since you are using the white and silver. Can you tell a difference with the new 6 color setup over the sp's 4 color? The speed isn't a deciding factor, especially since it is only really slow...
  7. Roland new launch VS640 !!!

For those that have this machine, would you recommend it someone? Is it worth it? I have been looking at one and have been contemplating between just the 6 color or the 6 color plus white and silver.
  8. Print / Cut Help

I had this problem when either the cut line wasn't on the very top of the layer order or there was a transparency on top of the cut line. I use Illustrator and save my files as .eps and make sure it's set to postscript 3.

  11. Are all grommet machines created equal?

I have purchased 2 different ones off of Ebay. The first one, don't remember the name, but was green in color, the base cracked. The casting was made pretty poorly, but it worked great the year that I had it. The dies weren't perfect, but it worked. After that one broke, I purchased my second...
  12. Ink Bleeding on a VP-540

I had that happen and I can to the conclusion that it was laying to much ink down too fast. Try running it uni-directional to see if that helps. Or use the "W-Pass" if you are using VersaWorks.

  17. true black for vp540

In design in Illustrator on my mac then send it to my pc to print and get it to print a true solid black. I set my to just 100 black then set it up as a special color in VW where when the color is 100 black, it prints only 100 black. Comes out perfect every time.
