  1. Roland 3rd party ink choices or feedback

Can you give us any more details on why you like the Solaris so much? Just curious on stuff like switching process, color match, maintenance, ect. Thanks.
  2. SP-540 Printing blurred/overspray

I have seen high levels of static cause something similar to this.
  3. Roland 540vp or sp?

I see that you use Wasatch. What do you think of it? I have been contemplating getting this to use with my VP, but have heard mixed feelings on it. Would you recommend it over VersaWorks?
  4. Roland 540vp or sp?

I have the VP540. I would suggest going with the VP. You won't regret having the ability to print faster when needed and when quality is what you want, you can slow it down and have that as well. Plus the extra year warranty is very nice also.
  5. Die Cutting???

I do the die, or perf cut as Roland calls it, where it cuts through the backing and all. You just have to create a new spot color, like your cutcontour one, and label it PerfCutContour. It has worked very well for me on my VP. I know it is a feature in VersaWorks, so you should be able to do it...
  6. Die Cutting???

I will add that it can be hard on blades and cutting strips, so have extra ones on hand.
  7. Die Cutting???

I think that in VersaWorks you can use the die cut feature with the SP-540. I know I have with my VP-540 and it works good. You just have to setup the proper cut line to the VersaWorks what to do. Which is an easy process.
  8. Eco-Sol Max?

From what I have checked, Ordway was the cheapest and the free shipping is very nice.
  9. arcade wrap

Couldn't you use like the Oracal 3621 removable? I would think the 3951 would stick to much where the 3621 would peal right off and it's a lot cheaper too.
  10. Eco-Sol Max?

It sounds like you are going to be using Fellers from you ink brand listing. Can't you just order your ink from someone like Ordway Sign Supply? They are pretty close to you.
  11. Design Jet 5500 Woes

Not to be a :thread, but I am looking at adding a 60" 5500PS to go along with my VP-540. Would you recommend this printer? I know I want to go with the UV inks. Just trying to get some feedback on it. :thankyou:
  12. Roland SP-540V VersaCamm printing problem

I have had the best luck using the "PCGV" profile. I think that is what it is. I might have a couple letters mixed up. It is the Premium Cast Glossy Vinyl. It works the best on everything for me on my VP-540. I took a couple of different files and printed them on different media with about 10...
  13. ink issue

I thought the little plastic tab that protrudes when the cartridge gets empty was what triggered the "low ink" warning on the printer?
  14. New Printer issues

I didn't think they seam that great, especially with price. My Roland rep showed me a printed sample, after not having any luck trying to get a sample 3 times from Roland, and I was not impressed. I thought they would have looked way better for $40k. I didn't tell him that though.
  15. Epson DX4 Print Heads - Are they all the same?

I know that my VP-540 uses the DX4 head
  16. 20/20 color ink for roland

It seems that Roland's prices keep going up and up. I guess if they stand up to their claimed warranty, it is worth the try. Like I said, my main thing is that the quality is just as good or better. If the ink is more durable, that is a big bonus as well. I have always been interested in...
  17. 20/20 color ink for roland

Who do we get in contact with if we want to try these inks? I still have a year left on my factory warranty on my VP-540, but I am still interested in the savings with this ink. The smell isn't that big of a deal if the ink is better and more durable. As long as the quality of the prints will be...
  18. Delayed Contour???

I have done this with two separate files. - Create an artboard, I use illustrator, that is the size to fit your graphics. Place your first cut file along with your graphics and send to your RIP. - Keeping that same artboard, place your second cut line where you want it and hide all of the...
  19. race car designs

In Illustrator it is called an "extrude." That is more or a 3d look to me. Guess it depends what you are going for.
  20. Print and cut length ?

I was just going to say that I opened my eyes and found it. http://support.rolanddga.com/docs/Documents/departments/Technical%20Services/Manuals%20and%20Guides/Support_Doc_Using%20the%20CustomCUT%20Feature_Rev_3.pdf
