    last few weeks i've been crashing prints left and right getting a 79:04 error, HP is telling me my network is phucked, granted my network is a cobbled mess, two wireless routers and two hubs and a ton of old cable patched together, but it hasn't been an issue for other printers or even this one...

    i have some crap 60" banner material here, i would have coated out three pieces with black ronan background enamel, cut 651 white, stuck it to the banner. put two sided tape all around the banner and stuck it to the window. no one would have known it wasn't vinyl and i would have charged $900...

  9. I may have to break down and find a tech...

    when all else fails, take a syringe fill it with a little cleaning solution. put a tube on the syringe and put it on the magenta nipple, lightly push the fluid thru the head (paper towel underneath) until you see a perfect pattern. then you know the head is open. i've done this 1000's of times...

    i have had captops last 1 year, i have had them last one week. when the situation is right and the sponge swells, your gonna get ink transfer. damper has nothing to do with ink transfer....

    it's not the dampers, the ink siphoned thru most likely via a swelled cap/sponge. happens all the time. use a syringe to suck the ink back out of the line, once the line is yellow again, your good. take the damper off to do this. once the line is yellow again suck the ink out of the damper...

    i updated the firmware today because out of the blue i'm dropping prints today left and right with 79:04 error, seems to be the catch all for error codes... first print after the update still crashed.... think i'll have to investigate the network....

    he suggested to me that there was a more aggressive cleaning cycle and that i should manually turn it on, he stated that the new firmware would do this for me...
