  1. HP Discontinuing Colorspan Ink - Is there a third party alternative?

have you spoken with Nazdar? They were talking about an ink for that. BUT, realize that the market is limited in terms of demand for the product, so there is not a lot of incentive to research test and market for it expense wise. Can you pressure HP to remove the chip or give you permanent ink...
  2. Health Care Exchange

Get this, and it happened to us and a customer of ours Tuesday. We've been customers for 10+ years, and fully paying our bills, Horizon BCBS decides to put in a "request for call" meaning they sent our broker a letter to call in about our account. Reason: our small group no longer fits their...
  3. Okay...Signs365 just pulled the most epic customer service job EVER

Agreed. We are on a 8 hour round trip delivery at the moment, because our customers customer and the freight company both screwed up. It's a big order, though. Getting on a plane for a $45 order is quite impressive. I'd be willing to bet Pat does a tremendous volume with them, and it's not just...
  4. Office ergonomics...what are you doing?

Switched to a standing desk this spring. Added anti fatigue mat. Would never go back. There are various outlets for determining your ideal height.
  5. DesignJet L26500 - Waving on print? Help

Typical latex issue with that media. We no longer use that particular media. Cooley prints awesome on the latex. Try that.
  6. What is this knocking noise coming from...

I'm sure other heavy users like myself will chime in, and cleaning and lubing the rails is spot on. You will get to a point though that the head felts will become so caked with ink, that no matter how much you clean or lube it won't help much. A set of head felts is $20 and they are pretty easy...
  7. White ink printing wholesale??

Try Bill at Wyldgfi.com. Merchant here.
  8. Shovelhead

Our community has lost a great one. May your spirit carry on forever. Peace be with you and your family.
  9. Whoa....................... this oughta be good.............................

Gino, I deal with Brian at the branch you speak of. On one specific item we buy in bulk, they give us great prices, and the quality and consistency of said item from them is higher than out other sources. So, I'm guessing either the others constantly get bad pallets, or knowingly buy off...
  10. gaspoweredskillsaw

aaah country life he even has an owb in the background. Ya know, a saw like that could come in real handy!
  11. Waterline on this particular boat.

Be careful here. That Hydrasport sits really low in the water......see the large stain line? I have the same vessel, and can tell you they are deceiving. I'd set it well above the thru hull deck drain. Might be worth floating the boat on a calm morning and marking it out with a grease pencil.
  12. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

I'm following this thread, not a CET owner but it was close as we were intrigued by the fact that the table setup was similar to our Gandi/Agfa flatbed. Aaron-we're not far from you, if you are ever in a bind to get a print out just give a shout and we'll help you out. thx Rick
  13. HP L25500 spitting lines?

Above would be my advice. I'd add get a mechanics inspection mirror. That and a flashlight will help tremendously in getting the fibers you cant see. Also make sure to keep your rails well oiled. Not related to the fuzz but a common l25500 issue.
  14. B2Sign.com?

Well stated Mike. It's terribly difficult (read impossible) to make a low margin wholesale operation work long term-eg be sustainable in terms of employees, equipment upgrades, facility, etc. It's when the line is crossed—and the retail prices of the "wholesale" shop become at or below what the...
  15. I had a good answer for a client yesterday...

I wouldnt jump to that conclusion. Walk a mile in the shoes of a trade shop and you will see there are a lot of clueless sign/print/ad specialty shops out there. To me, educating them and guiding them sets us apart. That could easily be the situation here. You would be amazed at how little so...
  16. Just wondering..........................

We've been through a ton of ****e in the past 9 months here from the Hurricane. My staff, family and community were all affected. BUT, we are forging ahead with business and life. I have not been on here much, and this is pretty much why. A few years ago I committed to do a mixer and bagged on...

King colorcore-GREAT idea! I always forget about that stuff.
  18. B2Sign.com?

You know, I don't get this industry at all, even after 18 years. Simply put, this debate arises time and time again about wholesalers selling to the retail public. I have been VERY transparent about the fact that we have a TINY retail component that covers our town and my small island I call...
  19. 4over Custom Quote - Per piece price higher on 10,000 pieces than on 5,000 pieces

Adtechia is on to their logic. Also has to do with them maximizing press sheets and optimizing run sizes for max profit. Their software has compiled the most logical run size on press based on costs, historical data compiled, and the nature of the runs in the imposition batch. They make...
  20. 322 5" x 7" signs needed

All of the suggested methods are valid. Who said the sign business isn't work? That being said—the flatbed and router suggestion would be my method of choice since we have the equipment to do it. Not sure how much money you have in this, but printing them on PVC, routing to shape and...
