    Within signlab you can just double click the image, then click posterize region, then vectorization which has a few options to fine tune it.

    hmm, I couldn't find anything to adjust it. I have a file I was sending out to print and our printer mentioned that I change the gradient steps from 256(default) to 999 for best print.
