  1. New computers/upgrade

Also agreeing the PSU is overkill. Even the Win7 Ultimate is overkill, I can't see that offering any advantages for a signshop. USB3 is commonplace on the X58 and P55 chipsets, it should be easily obtainable for a new build. Speaking of the i7 920, I think the 930 can be had for the same...
  2. hi'ya from vancouver, canada

Welcome from the other end of the province!
  3. Versaworks 4.0

Versaworks should prompt you on launch. If it doesn't go to your preferences, under Roland@NET. Yeah, I messed with it a bit yesterday and didn't notice anything real new and exciting. Might have to dig a little deeper one of these days, though
  4. Versaworks 4.0

I see Versa 4.0 is out now. Anyone using it? I'm grabbing it now since it's just a backup for us and I can mess with it without throwing production out the window. Versa 4.0 Update Notes
  5. Hello From Northern Canada

Welcome from a different part of Northern Canada :)
  6. Thank you Canada.

    Cornholes?
  7. Thank you Canada.

I'm 100% Canadian, involved with sports my whole life and that Gold medal game was the first hockey game I've ever watched start to finish. What an amazing game it was. :) Mosh, your enthusiasm in this thread has you coming off a little bit more of a "tantrum crybaby" than the "I dont give a...
  8. HD Video Camera Recommendations

It's not really the caibre of the budget you're looking at... but I bought a Canon HF-S100 earlier this year and have been extremely happy with it :)
  9. Screen protector vinyl??

We use Xpel or 3M rockguard type materials. The same stuff we use as the clear paint protection for the front end of vehicles. Starts out with some silvering, but looks good in the end.
  10. SP-540 Printing blurred/overspray

I haven't seen ours do that... Maybe check your head height and make sure it's low. What scale is that picture?
  11. dvd game on mylaptop freezes entire comp?

Tough to say for sure. I'd try updating the video drivers and see if that cleared any of it up or if it acts any differently. Sounds like it's having a had time entering a rendering mode.
  12. Any Roland shops using Flexi for RIP?

We use both, and have narrowed down our profiles to be pretty damn close no matter which rip we use. We actually prefer the Flexi (7.62) rip for most of our vehicle graphics. Maybe out of laziness, since we dont have to export.
  13. Business Card Layout

I dig the concept, I'd probably add a space before and after the Mingle Graphics so it appeared " Mingle Graphics Mingle Graphics " and not "Mingle GraphicsMingle Graphics". I also applaud your ambition and talents at that age. Keep on track, you can't go wrong. :)
  14. flexi 8.6v2 upgrade

If your friend is having women problems do you tell him to get a bottle of Jergens? It's simple and trouble-free and the best thing is you can't get viruses!
  15. Looking for stock photo of a gun barrel

Did you get anywhere? I could grab a pict of my Smith 629 (revolver) or my Kimber Eclipse (pistol) tonight if you're still in need?
  16. Dimensional lettering install

Anybody else? Looks like my best bet will be a "double rail" type install, but the actual material of the rails looks like it varies quite a bit. Is there a common type that I should use? I respect the opinion of this forum above any other influence in my sign/design field... Should I bow...
  17. Dimensional lettering install

In this particular instance, yes. Our viewing distance is designed for 300meters plus. If it is unacceptable anytime, would I be better to mount the letters on a full length backing bar and mount the bar?
  18. Dimensional lettering install

I have a client looking to have 30" tall .080 aluminum letters installed on corrugated siding. The company cutting the letters is recommending a backing on the letters, although I thought if the letters were screwed to the sheet metal it would be rigid enough. You'll have to excuse me if I'm...
  19. Torn Up Worn Out, Bomb Squad Business Card Design

    Very cool. I dig it.
  20. Flexi and Windows 7

This one isn't true in our neck of the woods. We often sell machines off the shelf that are 64bit. Manufacturers dont care about the consumers, if they use a 64bit OS and can boost up the numbers on their ram to sell a few more machines, they'll do it. 64bit is becoming mainstream, not just...
