we have both thermal and solvent also a laminator
and i think you need all three to be complete
you can work and operate successfully with either but each one has it's own specific job
we run gerber edge, 2 roland print cut w/ ecosol inks and you just push the work towards the machine that is...
what ever you use make sure it is strong enough that the wind is not going to blow it off
i haven't had to do any installs like that before usually just attached to existing frames or to the side of the building but i can just imagine it would have to be reinforced real good
buy a gun..guard the van ... shoot anyone that comes close with a a paint can in their hand
so where you planning on laminating vinyl and then wrapping the box truck
or just putting the laminate right on the truck
where you may have a problem is the anti graffiti lam i have seen is polyester...
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: that would be funny
well maybe this machine will keep away the guy comes in for a 6x9 banner
and only wants to pay $25
or the guy who comes in and wants you to do artwork, set up your machine and run him one bumper sticker as a joke for his buddy and offers you $5
i am sure it is a scam
just never saw this one before i guess the banner scam is a thing of the past
now they have moved into the label business
just thought i would share
got this email on Saturday:
Hello Sir/ Madam,
I'm Mr. John Lee and I'm sending you an email regarding an order of some labels.I want to know if you can special make them for me if you can below are the sizes and quantities of labels i want you to place an order for me.
What to Print...
looks good
and don't worry about that short spot you will be making patches and replacement decals
for the remainder of the time they race
i think it was a sprint car i did (not sure if that's what it was, it had the big fin on top)
but they didn't even get to race the driver wrecked during...
yeah we are always experimenting with different materials
we can print on vinyl, polycarbonate,.010 pvc (rigid vinyl)
the only material we really have trouble with is polyester/mylar
it has to be top coated
we have a vp-540 and xc-540 we don't run too much paper but many are available other than roland (at a better price) but as far as banner and vinyls no problems here
that was nuts
it gave me that funny feeling in my stomach like when you are going down hill on a roller coaster
and after this thread i will be a little more aware of falling debris around towers
i am pretty sure when they demo-ed this machine for us the metallic had to be a spot color just like when you do the white or maybe you can do it cmyk w/ metallic pass
we have the xc540 that prints white and sometimes what i do if i need the white to print under my image for opacity i will set...
we use the hand-e-cut which is basically the same thing as the versacut
we got the 60" and paid about $300 or 400.00 (not pos it was about 5 years ago) but it goes up to 3/4" thick only bad thing i found was if you don't hold it down tight it can shift a little but other than that works good
i...
yeah double check that i had some issues as well and once i adjusted the crop mark alignment i was good to go (actually our service tech did it)
but apparently that can be caused from head strikes or when the head/cutter hits the material and jams up it knocks everything out of wack
cs5 already
we are still using cs3 and that works just fine for us but we are starting to get the files from customers that won't open and we are going to have update soon
sucks i don't think there are any great revisions that are helping our business any just taking our money for the upgrade
