  1. Laminator disaster

Now you got it. That will keep everything snug and in line as it winds around the two rollers. I just make sure I have six inch or so so I can pull on it once it leaves the take off roll. By the time it goes around the idler roller you should be able to hold it on the bottom pinch roller...
  2. Laminator disaster

Wow! Thanks for the drawing. That is just plain bad design. I would put some tape on the vinyl and tape it to the bottom idler and get it around that bottom idler roller one way or another.
  3. Laminator disaster

I wonder why they would put videos out like that. It is a challenge to feed vinyl straight through like that. Yes the edge of the table helps a little but when you can web it around two rollers that all but eliminates those feed issues. They designed the top rollers to be webed properly but why...
  4. Laminator disaster

That is pretty normal when you feed it incorrectly like that. You surely have an idler roller under your bottom pinch like you have on the top. Why aren't you using it? Read this discussion for and understanding of how to properly web a laminator. Or how not to...
  5. Hp latex 3000?

Wonder if we will see this technology in the 260/280 series?
  6. Anybody recognize this font?

Anybody recognize this font? Thank in advance.
  7. Arlon DPF6000 XRP Printer Settings

I would create a new linearization with lower ink limits. Also make sure you are not overdoing the light inks. Back them off to no more that 20% in the quarter tones and 0% above 70%. You can test this with a quality control target before you make a profile and back the total ink off even more...
  8. 12-Pass = More Ink?

In that case it should be using the same amount of ink.
  9. HP L210 Delivered Damaged

For those of you that got the 210. What model did it report to the RIP as, 210 or 260?
  10. Looking for a Double Sided Banner Material

If you want that finish your probably going to need to over-laminate to get it.
  11. 12-Pass = More Ink?

Using more passes can allow you to put down more ink but most of the time it is because a particular media needs more drying time or under less heat for a longer time. Now for a particular job that might have a lot of light tones that you want to use more light inks to avoid the peppering look...
  12. Pantone Swatch Books - Which One?!

One thing to remember about about a Pantone book with printed spot colors (not process simulation) is that you can read the spot color with a spectro and input that lab value info into your RIP. I have run RIPs where this was a necessity to get accurate spot colors. Most good RIPs have the...
  13. Printing on Magnet Material

Like I previously posted I had a roll that would not take heat at all. Last rolls I got .030" | Matte White DigiMag I can print at DT 55°C, CT 90°C HA 45°C, 24 Pass. AT 95°C Curing it will start warping the material, but might just have to make adjustments based on the environment your printer...
  14. Printing on Magnet Material

    Too much heat.
  15. Cutmaster 2

I guess you are just going to have to learn the hard way. At minimum as long as you have another partition or computer with 10.8.x and Illustrator you can at least cut from that.
  16. Cutmaster 2

As long as you have backed up up your OS 10.8 partition or keep it as a separate partition you should not have any problems. 10.8.5 is just fine on my working partition and allows me to get all my work done while I have installed a clean OS 10.9.1 on a test partition a few weeks ago and have...
  17. Cutmaster 2

Looks like you will have to go back to 10.8.x until February. http://www.graphteccorp.com/doc/Topics_Status%28Win8&MacOSX10.9%29.pdf
  18. How do you guys heat your shops in the winter time?

Hot water boiler the pumps the water through tubes in the floor. Great on feet and doesn't blow dust around.
  19. HP Designjet L25500 drying problems

Been dealing with lower curing temps on the left 12" or so my L25500 for a while now and am trying to decide if replacing the resistors will fix this or if I would be better off just upgrading to a L260. It is bad enough that more passes and more heat is not really working as that is what I have...
