  1. Estimate forms

Are you currently using this? It looks like it's more tailored to offset/paper printing - can it be customized to work with the sign industry? Thanks.
  2. New shop tool

Are they actually rivets or are they screws that can be removed with a #2 robertson bit? I've yet to run into a trailer that actually has rivets, usually only screws. Maybe our Canadian trailers are a little different though........
  3. Suggestions Creating Business

Congratulations on your first anniversary. You could use that opportunity to send a hand written card to everyone you've done business with in your first year thanking them for their support and how you look forward to working with them again in the future. Keeps you front of mind and people...
  4. Need Help Remove & Replace job... Vinyl won't come off

Those steamers are lifesavers! Stripped a couple 8 year old decals off a trailer yesterday in no time. Unlaminated calendered vinyl that was completely baked on. While the steamer was warming up I used a torch to get started....and was only getting tiny little strips off. Once I got the...
  5. Suggestions White and Metallic Ink Wholesale printing

I personally don't think 6 pcs is enough to warrant screen printing something like this, especially at that size, but I suppose it all depends on the design. Since it's on clear, I would UV print the cmyk + spot white aspects, then back the whole thing in metallic silver vinyl. That's the...
  6. ROLAND BN20

From Roland's website: Ink Cartridges Type & Capacity Roland ECO-SOL MAX https://www.rolanddga.com/products/printers/versastudio-bn-20-t-shirt-printing-press/specifications So I would say you have to stick to that inkset. Regarding the difference, who knows. We used both before switching...
  7. Prepping media question

Ordering by the pallet has been our only surefire solution to this issue. But when we do have to prep sheets that have been handled: -Spray a clean microfiber rag with a 50/50 mix of isopropyl (99%) and water so that it's damp, but not soaked/dripping wet. -Mist the entire surface of the sheet...
  8. Roland Versaworks Question

Change your EPS margin to 0.05 in Versaworks and it should fix this issue. Edit/Queue A or B settings/File Format
  9. Big clients that don't pay on time?????

As much as this is what we'd all love to do to slow paying clients, I hardly feel this will fly with a large museum client. Sure, being a slow payer is unprofessional, but threatening to act like a cowboy will get you fired real quick. I can't imagine anyone walking into a museum and ripping...
  10. Needing To Laminate For Sport Helmet Decals?

We don't deal with football helmet decals but do print a lot of hardhat decals, and we always laminate. Regarding reverse printing - yes it can be done on the edge and is used when printing on clear materials that will either be reverse mounted or backed with an adhesive, such as Lexedge.
  11. WINDOW SPLASHES

Awesome work! Welcome to Signs 101. I look forward to seeing more of your art around here.
  12. Looking for a thicker eco-sol printable, removable vinyl

GF 226 Wallmark comes to mind....6mil and very nice to work with. Of course this depends on how this part will be used and how removable you need the graphic to be. http://www.generalformulations.com/Products/Digital-Media/Print-Film/Matte-White/Low-Tack-Microsphere-Adhesive/Concept-226
  13. Adhesion Issues, Need Suggestions

Maybe to match a corporate color??
  14. What do you use to dust off prints?

Paper towel lightly misted with Rapid Tac. NOT wet or even damp - just a quick spritz so that it's not "dusty", but inevitably a little fiber or dust will make it's way in there.... I also keep the humidity high and turn fans off when laminating.
  15. Best Value (Full Color Vinyl Printer) for Home Business

    Good luck with that.
  16. Hi y'all

  17. Best Medical Gloves With Ecosol Ink And Cleaner? Vinyl, Latex, Nitrile, Etc...?

Nitrile only over here. We get them from Costco
  18. Fuji Acuity 1600 LED

Good to know, thanks. Was it a huge ordeal to swap the inks? I do love the color gamut of the 256 ink but I'm always concerned about prints getting scratched.
  19. Fuji Acuity 1600 LED

Which Oce inkset are you using? We're using 256 series and I find it very easy to scratch as well. I'm considering switching to a different inkset that will be more durable. Thanks.
