  1. car wrap print layout

I hope this was an attempt at humor... A truck side like this should be 4 pieces - 1 for front quarter, 2 pieces for the doors, and 1 for the entire bed side. Same for other side. 1 for tailgate, 1 for hood, and of course 1 for roof, if applicable. Good design can keep you from doing the roof.
  2. Signs 365 fail!

Is there not any reinforcement in those hems? It looks to me like this would fail even with perfect grommet placement. Simply taping the edges of a mesh banner is nowhere near enough strength for an outdoor banner.
  3. 3m 1080 for wrap "and" cut lettering ?

I really don't get why this is a question....if it sticks to the car as a sheet, why do you think it won't stick if you cut out some shapes? It's still the same vinyl!
  4. Dimensions in Onyx are larger than file in illustrator....?

You must have some margins set in there that is adding to the overall size.
  5. Can Flexi tell you the square footage of a shape?

Absurd. If customer orders a contour cut decal that it's FURTHEST BORDER measurement is 4" x 10", but the decal really only occupies 75% of that space, the customer still gets charged for a 4" x 10" decal. I don't get the reasoning for needing square footage of the area of a shape, in the case...

For 1 selected shape should be super simple.... HxW (in inches) /144 = __s.f.
  8. Hp Latex 360 printer fumes

I'm sure all these printers and their inks, as well as all the media we handle, contain chemicals that are killing us. I've been in this biz for 25 years nearly and I'm surprised my body isn't riddled with tumors.
  9. First time for this type of job... any advice?

Flatbed, or cut vinyl on blue dibond.
  10. Reflective Safety Stripes - Where can I get these?

    Even U-line sells this stuff.
  11. Using the term "die cut" vinyl lettering

This too....get lots of requests for a "vinyl sign"... "Well, our lettering for the sign is vinyl.....you want that on what material?" "Vinyl sign, that you can roll." "So, you want a banner?" "Ok, if that's what it's called, and you can roll it up". "Yes." And then.... A year passes after...
  12. Static Cling

And use Rapidtac to apply to glass, just like you would any other vinyl. Makes it bubble free.
  13. ADVICE

On the other end of the spectrum.... advice is : take out a loan and lease a retail storefront. Buy a new inkjet printer, a laminator, a computer or two, some vinyl, and you should be in business. Watch the money just flow in!
  14. Using the term "die cut" vinyl lettering

Yes, it is quite amusing when we get a call from someone asking <in southern accent> "da ya'll make stickers?" I tell them "we make custom cut vinyl decals and labels".
  15. Using the term "die cut" vinyl lettering

YES. Cut vinyl is the normal term around here. And if it's printed vinyl with a shape, simply 'contour cut decals' is the term.
  16. Shooting this morning

"luckily no other people were injured" is what you should have said. Who cares about the buildings or trucks.

  19. Printed 3M dual color film, liquid laminated, I need input...

Why this material if it is a front lit sign? Isn't it intended for backlit?
  20. Can You Print On .02 Polystyrene With The HP L260

If you can roll the sheet on to a core, you might be able to do it. I personally would not even try it. Print on vinyl, mount to styrene.
