i haven't had too much push-back on boat prices recently. BUT my absolute favorite thing is when people show up in their brand new $80K pickup truck or $150K Construction vehicle and balk when I quote $265 to letter their doors so they are legal.
LIKE UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. WTF? Go ahead, drive...
what a mess. try a fishing line behind the magnet. I've had people (taxi cabs) glue magnets on. If you heat it up, you can start to pull it off in pieces. Then I use rapid remover and a plastic scraper to get it clean. BUT its not going to be nice or easy to do.
your other option is to use two sheets of 1/2" and stud mount them with nuts. Then I'd probably route the center of a 3rd 1/2" PVC sheet, leaving a 1 or 2" border and sandwich the three sheets together. Good luck.
A local ironworks (or wrought iron fencing) place should be able to fabricate that for you. OR you can try https://www.signbracketstore.com/ . They can make custom brackets.

Also, I think his factory actually fabricates for other wholesalers (which is why lead time is so long.)
I'd probably plot a split stencil using paint mask or whatever cheap vinyl you have laying around. I'd rather do it that way than to have to manually cut out the spaces on a paper pattern.
the key with this is that it needs to sit on the surface for a while to work. I will spray the vinyl and then stick a piece of leftover liner paper on top to prevent it from evaporating before it has a chance to work. I tried using it years ago and I thought it was garbage. Once I figured out...
I got a call the other night. It was a recording telling me to call a number because I was being charged with federal tax evasion. I got worried for a minute because i owe on something from a few years ago (my bookkeeper screwed up my payroll taxes), and we're in the process of sorting it out...
I don't typically separate out a design fee, its built into my pricing. Well, basic design is built in, if they want a "logo" or intricate design, I will charge a separate fee.
And its easy to get a deposit. I just say "Artwork is part of the job, and I don't do any finished designs until we...
