pls. have it checked by a techie person, or an actual pc tech. a lot of things can contribute to a pc slowing down. but with that said, i personally simply refuse to accept the idea that a pc using the exact same software can't run at the same speed it was running on when you first bought it...

btw, just for explanation's sake. the fiber catches the ink, collects it, and then plops it in when it's heavy enough.

a single fiber will cause the random spots. especially with banners, you really can't guarantee that your head will be fiber free 100% of the time. manual cleaning will definitely help, along with scheduled auto cleans. but at the end of the day, you can only do so much. kelly

i don't know about mutoh's. but the newer roland printers have options in their settings that allow it to run under different ink configurations. cmyk included. my old SC-540 didn't have this option. but like smdgrfx said, the software option provided by flexi allows me to still do cmyk prints...

i hear that a local roland SC-540 owner feeds sintra boards onto his machine. and that it actually works. the only downside is that he is said to go through his pinch rollers just about one set every month. me, i just don't have the balls to do it. simply far too many things could go wrong....

i see overspray on the black. that usually tells me that either (1) there's a clog somewhere, (2) head is having electrical problems [maybe due to age] or (3) the ink isn't compatible with the head or just a bad batch. [too dense]
