Also good to know that they will fail... and if they do and you don't have a replacement you can remove it and turn the downside to the upside (requires punching a new hole usually) and it will function again.

The spec sheet calls out one 500GB 3.5 Inch SATA drive and one 500GB 3.5 Inch SATA 6Gb/s with 16MB DataBurst Cache. In the actual puter they are both Toshiba DT01ACA050 drives- I am wondering what the '16MB DataBurst Cache' means? If it is significantly better I will see if they will send me...

Win 8 is a good tablet OS. You can downgrade win 8 to win 7 if it is a real problem for you.
