just figured it out. went to cmd and pinged my smtp and magically my smtp ip address came up. thax 4 the help

responded: failure, please note that you need to configure the email server to make changes effective....

i use windows live, but hp isn't asking for the normal smtp name, they will only accept an ip address....

i dumped mine yesterday too. i can get an add on line for $36 a year for a fax line, but didn't even bother. i can't remember the last time i had to really fax something....
