    Fire up the press bro!!
  3. 10x40 banner

Is the R-Panel allowing wind to get behind the banner, because of it's profile and then pulling at the grommets? We've cut semi circles in some of our banners in the past to allow wind to escape. Not too large, about 3" diameter. Of course you just leave the material there. We put them in "non...
  4. VP-540 Printing Faint Yellow

Well there you go, hence the "light yellow" print. If you can post the pictures to your thread that would help others diagnose.
  5. VP-540 Printing Faint Yellow

A quick test print / nozzle check will tell you if any YELLOW is even coming out. Please print and post.
  6. Need Help Getting good grey color out of my printer. Roland xc -540

A few things, make sure the color chart is on the same exact material that you are printing on now. That's important to compare results. Also, in VW, under the Quality selection, go to Color Management, then notice there are 8 different selections. Max Impact is one of them, SignUSA is another...
  7. Random Photo of the Day

That downtown picture from "Scotchbrite", now that is a real US downtown. Finally, a town with some personality. Looks fantastic, and no guessing where the Cafe or Drug Store is. Love it.
  8. Need Help Getting good grey color out of my printer. Roland xc -540

On your Pantone chart you should have a selection for Cool Gray's and Warm Grays. They are numbered Cool Gray 1-11 and Warm Gray 1-11. They are right after the 400 numbers in the Pantone chart. Print them out and see if they fit your needs.
  9. Critique me! 100 Yard Sign order

The link to the Ebay site for 100 signs might, might, make $100 after all is said and done. If your desire is to make $100 for a day's work, and then take your rent expenses, electricity, insurance, and soft costs out of that hundred dollars, you might want to look for a new profession. Doesn't...
  10. Is it just me?

Yes, "walk in traffic" would have been a more accurate phrase.
  11. Is it just me?

Take 30 minutes after hours and figure out how much money walk in traffic brings you a month. Also how much time tire kickers spend and quantify that into unearned dollars. Every minute spent talking about a 3" X 2" singular sticker is time not spent making real money. You'll probably find that...
  12. S80600 printing issues

If that were on a Roland, I would attribute it to a head strike, and black head may have moved. I don't know how many print heads are on an 80600, or if all 4 colors are one head like some of the older Rolands.
  13. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

Ryan, that's a fantastic update. It's nice when machine's humm and make money. I noticed you did not mention Polystyrene on your list of substrates. .015, .020, .030, etc. Any success with that machine printing on Polystyrene?
  14. Wolly Gator: Hand Painted and Lettered

That looks really good. Definitely in the spirit of Florida Mobil Home Parks. How did you mount it in the ground?
  15. Hello, New here. Just getting into large format printing.

Why not sub out all your jobs to a B2B wholesale printer? When you get a better bead on which direction your heading, that might affect your equipment decisions. Just sayin'.
  16. anti static mop

Also take a look at StopStatic.com They have a solution on there for wide format printers. I probably need this for my 54" Roland's
  17. Day One Prints

Welcome! Go out there and tell them who you are and what you do. You'll get work, especially in an area as densely populated as Daytona Beach. Best!
  18. Educating clients in what is and isn't high quality artwork.

It's good to know that you have a steady flow of customers. :) Just tell them the cost of redrawing the artwork. If they don't opt for that, then they opt for the low rez print. You can't educate non graphic people about the graphics business. Just don't do any low rez car wraps.
  19. Tiki as a kid

A little genius, he is. We could use him here for font ID's. I was surprised he didn't do everybody's favorite Comic Sans.
  20. Versa 5.5.1 Halftone Annoyance

According to what I've been told by my Roland Tech, VersaWorks is most effective when the profile fits the quality selection. Thats right, different profiles for different qualities. I just run everything on the standard setting with the same profile, but I do have different profiles for the...
