Exactly. It's like...
"How much for a 4' x 8' sign?"
"I need 10 shirts for my softball team. My sister says you make shirts. How much do they cost?"
"Can you make me some stickers for my cornhole set? I want a giant Chicago Cubs logo on them."
"I need some business cards. I'm...
I really wish customers would stop messaging me privately on Facebook for quotes and such. Ever heard of a phone book people? Perhaps Google? Maybe try our website? I mean emails are bad enough to deal with but now Facebook?
Sheesh! I sometimes hate this social media world we live in...
I agree here completely. I would do the lettering with cut vinyl and just print and contour cut the gradient flame. It would give me piece of mind and the customer would have an excellent end product.
Good post.
The one thing that I didn't understand when I first got involved in this business, and that I believe others don't quite grasp is materials and pricing. The customer is paying for your labor. What materials you use makes very little difference in the price of the finished product...
It doesn't really matter though. You truly can live and thrive without those customers. Most people will understand I'm sure. We've only been in business less than two years and we have already seen the need to have minimums, although we have yet to implement them. That day is fast approaching.
Does anyone know of a place that digital prints on the Arlon 8000 or the Convex Hi-Bond that we can sub out to? We have a job possibly coming up that would require decals applied to plastic porta-potties and bonding is also an issue.
Thanks for all the pointers guys. I'm gonna do some more work on it over the weekend and will post the results.
I may drop the splatter background altogether as I have to be able to print this in simulated process on a 6 color press so some of the colors are gonna have to be eliminated to...
If you think I need some lesson in humility, I think you are reading too far into things. I said it needs some minor tweaks, but I'm happy with it. Perhaps that was a poor choice of words, but essentially I am happy with it...until you make me hate it. I never said I don't want to hear honest...
You can buy doming kits from Richardson Supply. They demonstrated it to us at last years NBM show. It is very easy to do yourself.

Are you referring to the pencil or to the ball pick? Neither one is a burnishing tool. I used photos of our own tools, vectorized, cleaned up, and contoured.
The ribbon was absolutely an afterthought and I spent very little time on it. I guess it shows, huh? It needs a few minor tweaks but...
We need to print some new work shirts, so I got to playing around with something we could try printing in simulated process, since that would be a first for us with our new press. This is the first design I have come up with for the back of the shirts possibly, unless you make me hate it.
We have some black wire mesh style business card holders here in our shop. I just dropped my Samsung Galaxy into one and voila....it works perfectly. It's almost like they were made for each other.
