If you can get the serial port to work, you can use a USB conversion piece from Belkin--that's what we use on two of our older plotters and it works fine.

Corel actually comes with bitstream font navigator.. that's what I use. It'll automatically install fonts as needed in Corel. With PS and Illy, you'll have to do it manually.

I've never seen this before, unless it runs out of media. Versaworks should show an error, though, like "out of media" or "cover open" or something like that. Sometimes the error window hides under VW, so you have to minimize it.

Oh and almost everything we print is on standard. Some yard signs go high speed but that's about it. Mesh banners print great in billboard mode.

Full dampers won't necessarily cause problems, but could mean that thay are becoming clogged. If you're having issues you may want to switch them out.
