Hello all.. I'm playing with our new D160, and this is the first time I've used Winplot. We've got Cocut at our other shop, and it allows you to import a file, and then cut each color separately after changing out the roll of vinyl. I don't see anything like that as an option in Winplot, and...
It's a good idea to smooth the selection before exporting the paths, too. Photoshop will select each pixel, so you'll get a million nodes and jagged cuts.
I was seriously considering the very same thing.. but I'd mount them to the inside of the cabinet instead of on the door. We've already hacked ours all up for the ventilation system. :)
Yep, delete the files from your RIP queue. VW will save them (and the RIP files are sometimes 4x larger than the original source file) until you delete them. It's a good place to start.
You know what.. I'm all over the place. I guess I'm easily convinced by other people's points. At first I was all for making it a pay site.. But I'm afraid we'd lose a lot of new members, many of which turn out to contribute a great deal to the site.
I think our main problem here lies with...
We have two panthers we've used for over four years. One died at about 6 months old, but it was fixed and has run great since. <knock on wood!>
Welcome from Phoenix!
If you're running three printers you NEED one! It'll save you about 50% on ink costs. Plus you can print unattended without worry of running out of ink in your carts.
It's not for everyone though.. Our local distributor won't install the system unless you're using more than a liter of ink...
Thanks Fred, that's how I understood it. I'm looking for a better presentation to our customers. Not that it's a real selling point, because by the time we're desiging anything we've already got the job, but it would be great for those speculative situations. I think I saw on their site the...
I didn't understand what was being asked either.. thanks for translating!
To answer your question, we pay from $10-$20 depending on productivity. We also have full benefits including health/dental/vision, 3% IRA match, and PTO.
The big squeegee is NOT an application tool! It works fine as a tape tool, but because of the size, it won't allow you to apply enough pressure to the vinyl.
I'd use a center hinge instead of a side hinge. Make sure you use witness marks to keep you from skewing up or down.
Just 4x4 right over the rivets/screws like they're not even there. Don't pull on the vinyl as you go over the rivets or you'll get the wrinkles you're talking about. Also, don't use heat until you're setting the vinyl around the rivets.
This really kills me.. We just purchased another printer, and in talking to our distributor, they said that they're selling more and more to NON-sign businesses. Versacamms going like crazy to what they called "craft" people and "hobbyists".
When their sales manager was here, we talked for...
