  1. What Happened....

I know what you mean, I walked into walmart in the middle of october last year, and they had 1 aisle of halloween stuff, and 3 aisles of christmas stuff. Seems like it's gettin earlier every year.
  2. First Post

I kinda dig the orange one, at least as a temp logo for the month... the green one, not so much. Both of them look kinda... creepy I guess. Also, I'm kind've in the same spot. More than half of the stuff that I put out was not designed by me. Luckily we have a decent designer in-house so what I...
  3. Weird problem with our laminator, rollers heating up on cold mode?

We've got a Royal Sovereign RSH-1651 hot/cold laminator. I was using it a few minutes ago to mount some stuff, and I had it set to cold mode. After mounting a few prints, I noticed that I felt some heat coming from the machine, and the rollers were hot. When I hit the temp check button, the...
  4. Printing a banner, media keeps trailing off to the left causing a crooked print.

Ah, I see, good analogy, actually just started skating again a few months ago to help get myself back in shape. Ontopic, from what I can see the pinch rollers look fine. I'll keep an eye out for that in the future though.
  5. Printing a banner, media keeps trailing off to the left causing a crooked print.

Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by coning?
  6. Printing a banner, media keeps trailing off to the left causing a crooked print.

Got it printed, just wanted to say thanks again for all the help everyone.
  7. roland cutting problem

One thing I was told helps a bit on sharp corners like that is to ever-so-slightly round the corners of your CutContour line. In CorelDRAW X4 you can do this by selecting just the CutContour line, then going to your Object Properties docker (alt + enter if you don't normally keep it in your open...
  8. 500+ pictures

I think the OP was referring to a .zip compressed archive file, not an actual zip disk. I haven't even seen a zip drive/disk (or jaz for that matter) in close to 10 years.
  9. phototex users....

Don't know of an "official" profile for it, but the MCVP (Matte Calendered Vinyl) profile in VersaWorks is what I use. I haven't done a print/cut job with full bleed with it yet so I can't comment on whether or not it curls, but I have heard you should wait till it dries to cut.
  10. Hey Fred........................

:omg2: On topic... the whole "there" and "their" thing drives me nuts. So does "your" and "you're". Also, people who say "mine as well" instead of "might as well" or "may as well". Typos in company documents is a big one for me too. When I did food safety for this one company in '09, I can't...
  11. Printing a banner, media keeps trailing off to the left causing a crooked print.

I'm using the take-up reel, and I always unroll as much media as possible before starting the print when I do banners, and I make sure there's always some media unrolled during the entire printing process. It's 30', not 30", and it's a 38" roll of media so there's really only an inch of media on...
  12. Printing a banner, media keeps trailing off to the left causing a crooked print.

I'm trying to print a 3'x30' banner, and after the first 5 - 10 feet, the media starts to trail off towards the left. It's bad enough that if I were to let it go past 10 feet, the right edge of the media wouldn't even be under the pinch roller on the right and the actual print would be going...
  13. Is Facebook taking over the world?

Was gonna say, were you logged into Facebook at the time? Not a big fan of this practice at all, at least not the whole "my face being plastered randomly across the interweb" thing. Creeps me out, plus I'm just plain paranoid to begin with. @oldgoat thanks for posting that, saw that lifehacker...
  14. 55" Laminators

+1 on all of this, we've got the RSH-1651 and I love it. Been using it a lot lately for mounting and it really saves a lot of time compared to doing things by hand. My only regrets are that we didn't get a feeder and rear take up, and that we didn't get the 1650 with the heat assist instead. I...
  15. sending multiple pdfs in a single file

http://www.pdfsam.org/ Hasn't been updated in about a year or so, but this should do the trick for you. PS Google is your friend, took me about 5 seconds by searching "open source pdf combine"
  16. ?s about making a 3'x30' double sided banner

Yea I'm definitely trying to keep this in-house if I can, I feel like it's time to up my game a bit and this seems like a good opportunity. It'll most likely be printed, with the design I probably could do cut vinyl but the other banners we've done for this customer were all printed so I'd like...
  17. Bigdawg Needs Our Help

Gonna try to get a prepaid Visa gift card this weekend to renew my premium membership here, just gonna get a month for now and whatever's left on it I'll donate. Might not be much but it's all I can really do for now.
  18. ?s about making a 3'x30' double sided banner

Got a 3'x30' double sided banner to do and I have a few questions... -I read in another thread that larger banners such as this should have sewn hems instead of taped. What type of thread needs to be used? Obviously we're not gonna use the same stuff you would sew a button back onto a shirt...
  19. Consulation Fee?

I think what he meant was, he goes and does the consultation or whatever and gets the X amount of dollars for that, then and there, and then later on if they want to use him for the job, that money gets put toward whatever he quotes them for the job, kinda like a mini deposit for his time I...
  20. Help, did I just buy some malware?

You can also try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. And if you don't have a virus scanner on that computer, check out Avast, or at least run Microsoft Security Essentials.
